That moment when your greatest fear comes over you and covers you like a veil.
You see nothing but that and it freezes you to the bone. His face was all I saw, twisted in a sick grin. His white blonde hair parted to one side, his green eyes that pierced into my identical ones.
"Sage...! Sage...!"
Someone was calling me, but I couldn't respond. I could also hear a wailing sound.
"Sageline!"
I snapped out of it when someone shoved my shoulders and everything became louder.
I looked confusedly at the man in front of me, he had icy blue eyes and raven black hair. His skin was pale and he looked at me concerned. My heart skipped a beat the second I looked at him.
"Sage, the baby's crying." He says, and I finally knew what that wailing sound was.
He held her in his arms, her face was red from crying and her dark hair stuck out like a mouse's nest. Her tiny cream colored hands extended towards me.
"Oh." I simply say and take the baby from his arms.
"Are you okay?" He asks.
"Yeah, I just zoned out for a second." I say distractedly as I tried not to step on all the toys that were on the floor.
"Well, Riley already left for school. We have to leave in an hour and Sapphire still hasn't eaten." He says, following me to the kitchen.
"I'll take care of it, Ian, go get ready." I say as I sat my two-year-old on her high chair.
I fed Sapphire, changed and cleaned her up, and managed to make her take a nap as I got myself ready. I did all this like a robot, my mind still in another place.
Why is it bothering me now? He's gone, Sage, relax.
I kept repeating this words in my head until I buckled Sapphire in her car seat and sat on the passenger side of the car.
"You look beautiful." Ian says as he pulled out of the driveway, noticing my new ripped jeans and blue, lace tank top.
"Thanks. I don't have to tell you you're handsome. Fans tell you every day." I say and he laughs.
"Yeah, but when you say it it's more sexy." He says and I gave him a look.
"Ian," I purr and he nods, smirking. "You're handsome."
I watched his face turn red for a second as he side smiled, "See? It's better when you say it."
"Riley asked me a favor..." I say and Ian raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah?"
"Well, she wants you to bring her the new season's script." I say.
"Why doesn't she ask me?" Ian says.
"'Cause she knows you can't say no to me." I reply and flutter my eyelashes for emphasis.
"What did she exchange for it?" Ian says knowingly.
"She promised to change Sapphire for two weeks." I say, Ian looked at me in surprise.
"Really?"
"Yes, she was dead serious." I say.
"I'll give it to her if she doesn't leak it." Ian says.
"She won't. She hides all of that stuff in her Twilight book." I say and Ian cocked his head to the side.
"Why there?"
"Who opens a Twilight book other than a teenage girl?" I say with a laugh.
"Good point." He smiled.
