The day on Lothal had started out like any normal mission as Kylo had surveyed the damage that the First Order outpost had taken from the rioters. They had had help from troopers on the inside. For Kylo, he had come to two possible conclusions: one, the troopers were finally defecting or two, there was something foul going on. His gut instinct was the latter. The troopers that had survived the attack had been placed before him and to each he probed their minds harshly searching for the faces of the rioters and where they had come from. A village on the outskirts of Dinar.

Yes, the day had definitely been mundane and repetitive of every other day conducting business and searches, except for the fact he was here personally. He had been contemplating all of this when his insides were flooded with the all too familiar presence of Her! Of Rey. She had learnt to ignore him that much was true but he was always able to feel her Force essence, no matter of how dim it was across the Galaxy. His mind had drowned in emotions Kylo had long thought he had suppressed. Yet, each of these tumultuous emotions ruffled his feathers as he had come to look upon her now stood beautifully and steadfast before him in a defensive stance, lightsaber activated and ready. Truly he was enamoured by Rey. The white-blue plasma beams stretching from each end of her double bladed lightsaber cast her in a glow so enchanting that it cast his mind back five years to when she had ignited Anakin Skywalker's Legacy saber that rightly belonged to him.

"Hello, Ben." Rey said, her voice was void of any emotion but Kylo could see it in her eyes.

"Rey." Kylo replied matching her tone.

Her stance changed softly as she spoke, "It's been a while."

Kylo raged at that statement. A while? A while? Was she joking? Kylo spat at Rey venomously with precision. "Two years since you learnt to ignore me!" Rey had hurt Kylo more than he dared express to her. Or even tell for that matter. Two years he was subjected to emotional torture of wondering what he had done to deserve the sudden cut off.

"I had my reasons." Rey remarked softly. Kylo watched as her expression changed to remorse and guilt.

Kylo scoffed inwardly, Rey had her reasons! This he deserved to know, of that he was sure. "Was one reason to torment me, Rey. Do enlighten me!" Kylo sneered.

"I never meant to hurt you like that. I'm sorry." Rey practically whimpered.

"I'm sure you are!" He shouted softly. "Two years, Rey. Were you ever going to let me back in?" Kylo said uncertainly.

He watched as Rey looked down and her eyes grew glassy. "I... I don't know." She finally managed to say. Kylo felt his insides break, of all the physical and mental abuses he had suffered at the hands of Snoke, none of them could even compare to this revelation that the woman he loved would condemn him to an eternity of arduous emotional torture. "I'm sorry!" Rey cried and Kylo saw her move closer to him. Kylo hardened his fractured composure and ignited his crossguard, crimson plasma spewing from the vents in a vitriolic way. The cracked crystal was as unstable as Kylo himself: a literal representation of himself in the most ironic way. Kylo began to advance on Rey as she herself took up her defensive stance. However, Kylo stopped dead in his tracks when he heard a tiny but shrill voice cry, "Mama!"

He watched as the tiny child approached Rey, it was the spitting image of her and he watched as Rey's face crumpled refusing to meet his gaze. An imperious tidal wave of confusion drowned Kylo, followed by jealousy. This was her child. "Stay back, Lira!" She looked to be about four years old. Kylo's eyes darkened with fury at the thought of Rey having a child, that she had... The thought didn't bare thinking about as his jealous rage consumed him.

Kylo caught a further glimpse of the girl named Lira as she moved closer cautiously and he noticed she had raven hair. His mind reeled - it was his raven hair! Kylo deactivated his lightsaber and took a step back as he probed, "Rey?" She looked up at him guiltily mumbling "Sorry!" and it clicked into place. No, no. It was impossible, she couldn't have. They couldn't have, surely she wouldn't keep this a secret! The girl met his eyes for an instant and her face lit up gloriously filling with recognition.
