Chapter 5: Unexpected Flirt?!

   Angela and Sokato are shocked to see that Ryuu had cat ears. They just stood there and stared at him like he's a strange mutated cat. Sokato let her hands slid off her head and fall to her side, showing her cat ears to.

   Ryuu kneels down and grabs Sokato's hand and clears his throat before speaking softly. "Will you marry me?"

   That question felt like a shot to Angela's head. Sokato blushes hard and Ryuu is just kneeling there like its a halfway normal situation. Angela hugs Sokato from the back and pulls her away from him. Only one word came to her mind.

"Pervert." She says out loud.

"No No, you got it all wrong!" He says standing back up.

"Yeah right, who says that to a person they just met?!"

    He takes one step forward and Angela takes one step back with Sokato still in her hold. "Seriously," he says, "Hear me out, I can explain."

   Angela had no reason not to listen and she's also curious on how he will talk himself out of this.

"Okay I'm listen."

   He takes a deep breath in and out. "My mom told me as a little kid that there is very little of our kind left and they are very rare to find in this country and other parts of this world. She told me if I found a girl of our kind, grab hold of her and don't let her go. Our kind is dying and I don't want us to go extinct... and that's why I said that to her. I'm sorry for just asking it out of the blue."

"But don't you think that's a little straight forward. I mean just look at her."

  Sokato was still blushing alittle and Angela's sure she wants nothing but to jump of this roof.

"Yeah I guess so," he says, "but I don't want to just marry her because of that reason alone. I also think she's a little cu-c-cu-cu-c-" Angela raises an eyebrow because the last word he was trying to get out sounds like someone jammed a finger down his throat and is trying to cough it back up. "Anyway!" He says looking away with a very light shade of red. "I want to prove myself, and I'll start by getting her hat back."

   He folds his ears flat on his head again and quickly runs out of roof doors and down the stairs. Ryuu hoped that the wind didn't blow it to far and off the school campus, but his luck actually pulled through. It was caught on a tree near the top, right next to the schools border wall. Its been awhile since he climbed a tree. Last he remembers it was like 3 years ago. He stretches his arms real quick hops, grabbing on to a branch pulling himself up with ease. He about fell after a branch tugged on his shoe but kept going

   Angela and Sokato could see him from the school's roof. They both are amazed to see how easily he could get from one branch to the other. Practically leaping and swinging like someone who knows gymnastics. He grabs the hat and as impressively gets back down on the ground.

   A few moments later he's back on the roof a little out of breath.

"Here's your... Hat." He hands to Sokato.

   She just stares at him like she never seen anything like him before. But it was not just a stare it kinda looked like Sokato is in love with him.

"Nope!" Angela says pulling Sokato back

"Eh?" Ryuu wisps out of his breath.

"Nope nope nope. NOPE!" Angela responds with.

"What's the matter?" He says really confused.

   Angela takes the hat from Sokato and puts it on her head. "I ain't taking this teen romance, Snow White and the 'shoe' thing, nope, not going to take it."

"You mean Cinderella." Ryuu corrects

Angela slowly drags Sokato to the roof door and opens it. "I'm going act like you didn't say that. Trust me she's already taken, so be careful."

"By who?!"

"Me." Angela says while the door closes

"Angela! Don't make things-" Sokato says before the closed completely cutting her off.

Ryuu just stood there still confused. "Geez what's her deal." He mumbles to himself. "But she must be crazy if she thinks that's going to stop me."

  He steps forward and fall flat on his face. He made no effort to try an get up. He just sighs and says with his face still on the concret

"...My shoe is untied."

Now he knows what the tug was.

Angela was glad that the school day was finally over. She didn't see Ryuu again, mabey she scared him off. That or he doesn't want to show himself being social in front of other people without being forced.

"So what's with the random lust stare." Angela asked while they were walking home. "Is because you're in lobe with him!"

"No I told you already its not." Sokato says looking but then looks back at Angela. "Its not love, more like surprise. I've never seen any other hecki-"

"Neko." Angela quickly adds

"Other than my mom, until now. So I kinda didn't know how to react. Sorry if it looked weird when I was staring." Angela giggled and laughed. Sokato looked at Angela like she's worried.

"Sorry, sorry, its just I thought I was the one that was bad at social interactions."

   Sokato looked annoyed but slowly started giggling then it turned into a laugh. So both was laughing looking like a couple of crazies walking down the street.
