When I woke up I was encased in a warmth, and there was a comfortable pounding in my ear. I kept my eyes closed as I burrowed further into what I thought was my heating blanket. What I quickly realized was that it was hard, and breathing.

My eyes popped open. The first thing I noticed was that the warmth I was encased in wasn't my blankets-- in fact I wasn't even in my own room. I lifted my head and realized I was lying on top of someone, not anyone though... Danny. And the pounding that was in my ear was his heart beat.

I sucked in a breath and my eyes went wide. His eyes were closed and his breathing even-- he looked adorable when he was sleeping-- Oh god. Oh god. I began to pull from his arms, and move myself off of him without waking up.

I stood next to his bed and looked down at him for a second. He was so peaceful when he slept. His dark hair was sticking in all directions, his dark stubble hugged his jaw perfectly, and his mouth was opened just a bit.

Fuck, he's hot.

The next thing I noticed was that we were fully clothed, thank god. I shook my head and began to make my way out of his apartment. I grabbed my shoes by the door and made my way out into the hall.

What happened last night? Where is Jules? And how the hell am I not hungover. I quietly closed the door, so I wouldn't wake him up, and moved over to my apartment door as I pulled my keys from my pocket.

I unlocked my door, and walked in to find Julian sitting at my kitchen island, sipping coffee. "Why are you here," I asked as I ran a hand through my hair. I groaned and fell into a chair next to him.

"You and Dola kinda slid into his apartment hand in hand last night... So I used your spare key above Danny's door and came in here, there was no way I was gonna crash at his place... I had no clue what you two were going to do, and it was really late to call an Uber...," Julian replied with a shrug.

I rolled my eyes and let out a long sigh. "I-I don't think anything happened... I hope nothing happened... I mean... I was fully clothed... How— How much did I drink last night? And what happened at the bar? The last thing I remember is... is kissing him. I've never like... blacked out and not been hungover... I-I'm confused," I mumbled and shook my head.

"Well, after I pushed you into him, you two literally stared into each other's eyes for like five minutes... and like next thing I know is you guys have your lips locked and you're like feeling each other up. It was so crazy! I've been waiting for you guys to act on all of the sexual tension," Julian informed. "You guys literally couldn't keep your hands off each other in the elevator, either. Or hell! Even when we were walking back here, Dola like kept himself wrapped around you so you wouldn't get cold. You didn't even object, like you do when I offer you a coat on a cold night. It was actually kinda cute."

I rolled my eyes. "I-I... kinda hope he doesn't remember last night," I mumbled and put my head down on the counter. "It's kinda embarrassing."

"What's embarrassing about it, Jess? You two are obviously smitting over each other! You two would make the perfect couple! I've even thought about it... You could be the couple of the year-- Janny, or Dess... But I prefer Janny," Julian joked and let out a small laugh.

He's an idiot, I swear.

"Shut up, Jules. I don't want to hear it," I grumbled and let out a long huff. "Why are you like this? You need to stop being you. Ugh."

Before Julian could say anything, there was a knocking at the door. We both knew who it was, it had to be Danny-- lets get real, no one ever comes to my door other than him and Jules. I sucked in a breath and made my way over to the door. When I opened it, Danny was standing there with a tired look on his face and his dark hair was still just as messy as it was earlier.

"Uh... Hi Danny," I mumbled and crossed my arms over my chest. My heart began to pump faster as I looked at him. His sleepy brown eyes, and the look on his face were adorable. He's perfect.

"Uh," he trailed off, but saw Julian sitting behind me so he just shook his head. He lout out a sigh and pursed his lips. "I just... Nevermind... I-I gotta go."

I furrowed my eyebrows together, I felt a pang in my heart. "Okay, Danny," I mumbled but quickly spoke up again. "I-I hope you had a good time partying with us last night," I spit out before he could shuffle back into his apartment.

He turned and looked at me with a confused expression. "I..." He trailed off and looked at the ground, then back up at me as he ran a hand through his hair. "Yeah, thank you, I did. Thanks for inviting me." He sounded like he was just defeated. I shot him a sad smile and he moved back into his apartment.

I sighed and closed the door, then slid back into the seat next to Julian. "Come on, Jess! Why don't you just talk to him! This is all getting so annoying. You really need to suck it up and talk about your feelings! You are both suffering at this point," Julian complained as he rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Both of you are basically acting like eight year olds."

"I-I don't know how to deal with relationships, Jules! I really don't mean it," I mumbled. "I don't mean to make him sad. But I really don't know how to do it. I'm not a very loving person."

"Don't give me that shit, Jess! You're one of the most loving people I know! And the way you look at Dola... It's the look you get in your eyes when you watch hockey... Or when you talk about marketing. You're just too scared to do anything about it. You've acted out on your dreams... Now... It's about time you act on something you truly deserve... Love. There is no way Dola doesn't love you," Julian asserted. "And you won't admit it... But you love him too."

I sucked in a breath and looked over at Julian. "I-I... You're right, Jules. I love Danny. But, I don't think I can do this-- he deserves better."
