The wind whirled around me. The church had flames coming out of the sides and windows. I looked over at the sign and read: The First Church of God. I ran around in the area, trying to get any clues as to where I was at. I seen a sign off in the far distance, and it let me know that I was in Crystal River, Florida. I looked back and the church had firefighters there now. There was people running ballistic out of the church, coughing and gasping. I ran in to see what was going on. I started coughing myself, and knew this was a bad idea. Even though this is a vision, things can still go wrong. So I stepped back out and listened to the radio and people talk. "The fire was set by a candle getting knocked over at the front of the church. So far we have ten casualties and zero deaths." Not long after he finished, a firefighter came out with a person on a stretcher. The man wasn't breathing and the firefighter knew. He shook his head at the captain. They all hung their heads for a moment before another wave of them went back inside. When I looked inside the truck at the newspaper, I knew there was nothing to do about this and all I could do was watch. It was the year 1996. This already happened. So why was it showing up now? Another stretcher came out and there was a lady that was barely breathing. They put her on an oxygen tank, and put her in the ambulance. I was about to get closer towards the church when I heard her name being sounded by the firefighter. Her last name was Hewitt, and then it all made sense. I jumped in the ambulance and rode to the hospital with them.
When we arrived, they got her out of the ambulance as quickly as they could. I heard the firefighter briefing the doctor on the situation as she was taken in. "Her name is Marry Hewitt. Her husband, James, was found dead at the scene earlier and she has a two year old son named Xander. He'll be left all alone if we don't save her." I wanted to heal here right then and there, but that would alter reality, and I can't do that. I followed as they put her in emergency care. A cop came in, carrying a young boy. The boy looked to be about two years old and had black hair. His blue eyes stung with pain as tears streamed down his face. Xander... I jumped when the machine went flat. She was dying. Her heartbeat stopped and doctors rushed in. They tried to save her, doing everything they could. But after fifteen to twenty minutes, they gave up all hope. She was dead and there was no way to bring her back. I watched as her spirit detached from its body. She looked at Xander and almost cried. She looked over to see me. She stopped drifting and began to glow. "I know that you come from the future, and are friends with my dear Xander. Please take care of him. He'll need someone in the future." She smiled at me and I seen light shine from her body. "Please, tell Xander that I love him with all my heart. And try do everything you can to make sure that he's okay and follows in the correct footsteps." I nodded and she smiled back at me. "I have to go now. Just remember what I asked." I watched as she floated towards the sky. I stood there and cried for a long time. I looked over at Xander and smiled. He smiled back, apparently able to see me since he was so young. I knew that wouldn't affect much. I felt reality pulling me back, so I waved goodbye to the young boy and my vision went black again.
When I regained my eyesight, I still wasn't back in reality. This wasn't normal, and I knew that I couldn't do much more but watch. I seen a young boy in a room across from me but headed my way. His shoulder length black hair swayed as he walked into the room. A women, about in her thirties, ran after him. "Xander, you have to go with this family. They are willing to adopt you. You can't help that!"
"It will be just like the last five times. They'll like me for a week and then not like me anymore." His eyes were set on staying right were he was. "And if they treat me bad again, I'll just ran away and be sent right back here. So what's the use? I'll just end up right here again."
She sighed and looked at him. "This is a really nice family. And they have a daughter your age. That will be good for you, won't it?" Memories flooded into my head. My parents tried to adopt a boy my age that had wings like me after Jake moved. And he was about the correct age... "Their last name is Nite. Why don't you at least try. Meet them, and if you still don't want to go, then you can stay here." Huh. So that's who we tried adopting.
