CYAN

Arkin opened the door for me as I knocked tirely. He was smiling from ear to ear that suddenly changed my whole mood. I entered the house and Arkin followed me. I sat on the couch and feel the opulent comfort it brought.

“Natagalan ka ata?”

“Hmm…nag gym lang ako at nakita ko sina May at Love doon so nagkwentuhan lang kami. We forget the time so, ayun.”

“You must be very tired,”

“Not much.” I said, half-lying.

“You need a massage?” I smiled at the thought. Arkin can sense the whole lot I’ve been through, but I can tell he don’t know what it is, and he want me to tell what it is. But I’m not spilling anything. I will be doomed.

Lumapit na nga si Arkin sa likuran ko and he was lightly pressing some of the pressure points. I can tell that the problem is not within these muscles, but actually deep within me. I felt guilty because I think I’m cheating on him by not saying the truth.

“You know what, I learned all these stuff from my mom.”

“Really?”

“Noong bata pa ako, palagi akong napipilayan dahil sa sobrang kakulitan. I always come home with bruises and wounds. So my mom taught me some basics on first aid and massage thing. She said, I can use this when I grow up,”

“Talaga, parang gusto ko tuloy makilala ang mama mo,”

“And I believe, if she’s alive…she would also love to meet you too.”

Napangiti naman ako sa isiping iyun. How can be Arkin this sweet, despite the fact that he grew up in a life where downfall and tragedies are all nature of his existence? If I will put myself on his shoes, I can’t really deal with it.

“Kumain ka na ba?” I asked him.

“Nah. Hinihintay kita, actually nakapagluto na ako nang dinner natin,”

“You do?” For a moment, I forgot everything bad happened today. And that’s because of this guy. I consider my life a total mess, not after Arkin came in my life. I can’t tell what my life would be without him.

I told him because he’s a good cook. He even played some bubbles that lighten up the mood.

“So,” he said in between his breathe.

“So?”

He pointed my room while his head’s down. “Dito na lang ako…” he gave me a shy smile. “I know, I am the reason why you’re tired.” Then I can feel his and my cheeks turned red. “So, I, I mean, let’s call it a night.”

“Okay,” I said nodding idiotically. “Let’s call it a night.” He turned his back and faced his door. I turned the knob and about to enter my room. The moment paused for a while as Arkin grabbed me on my arms and turned me to him. Kissed me on lips and all I want is to end it all here. Not  to stop it, to play it perpetually. I hope our roles would be just doing sweet moments forever. Just like this.

Arkin’s and mine parted. It was a blast and bliss. It was swift but moving. I’m dying and fighting for that, for that moment.

“That’s a kiss good night.” He said, winked and entered his room.
