IT HAD BEEN several weeks since their first successful date, and to Matthew's surprise and relief, she didn't leave him for some hidden boyfriend. No words could explain the joy that went through him when three months passed by and they were continuously in cahoots with one another. Ah, the beginning of new relationships.

They had gone out more often, each time seeming to surpass the last. Yes, they'd been only going out for three months, but he found her always on his mind. When he was awake, working, eating, sleeping - my god, even in his dreams she found him. Not that he was complaining. No, on the contrary, acting like a lovesick puppy is how he preferred to spend most of his time.

However, their last conversation left him in distress.

"Come watch me perform."

He had been drinking a soda at that time, and the Cola had gone down the wrong tube at her declaration. She had apologized repeatedly and patted her hand against his back.

"Okay... should I bring some popcorn, or is this the kind of thing we just keep between ourselves? I'm kind of a private man." He choked out with a smile.

Covering her eyes, she laughed. "Oh my god, I swear it wasn't supposed to come out like that."

"So what did you mean?"

"We have a gig on Saturday at a cafe. Do you... wanna come?" She'd ask hesitantly, almost as if she was scared he'd reject her proposal.

He could see that this really meant a lot to her and if it was important to her it was going to be important to him too.

"Of course I'll be there."

"Great! You can meet my friends!"

And then she told him to bring his friends along as well. His friends! She was ready to meet his friends! And he had to meet hers!
