~Aisha~

"Ugh. I need a break." I said, getting up from my desk and stretching.

"Looks like you need coffee." My best friend and co worker, June knocked on the transparent walls of my cabin.

"Oh yes I do. Let's go down to Starbucks and get some." I smiled, grabbing my coat and walking out of the cabin, locking the door behind me.

"How's your project coming along? People are saying it's a huge international one." June asked me, as we walked towards the elevator.

"Well it is kinda important, I mean me and the team is trying our best to get it done." I yawned.

I hadn't slept in over 38 hours, because I was so burdened with work.

"You need some good sleep too." June was cut off when she saw Derrick, the offcie hottie coming towards us.

"Hi there ladies. Where are you off to?" He asked us, flashing his wide smile.

"The Starbucks below." June replied, awestruck.

"Oh, be a darling and get me an iced americano?" He asked ever so sweetly.

Derrick was under the impression that girls loved him and that's how he got work done out of them.

"Get them yourself Derrick, and also get out of the way." I said, pushing him aside.

I had no soft spot for Derrick.  All the other women might be swooning around him but not me.

"Oh darling you love me and you know it." He winked at me and I could just feel June falling to bits beside me.

"Oh please, don't elevate yourself so much Derrick. Get out of the way." I grabbed June hand and dragged her to the lift, which fortunately was on pur floor.

"He clearly likes you Aisha, why don't you acknowledge him?" June asked me once we were safely out of earshot and in the lift.

"He might like me but I don't. I don't carry a very high opinion of men like Derrick." I tapped my foot impatiently.

"Oh well." June laughed and stared at the decreasing numbers.

I put my coat on and walked out of the office building, my heels clacking quickly on the pavement.

"How do you walk- puff- so fast- puff- in those heels?" June asked, puffing behind me.

"I like wearing them so I don't mind." I replied, pulling my beige overcoat around me tightly.

"Plus did I tell you? You look really good today." June caught up to me.

"Which dress do you want?" I yawned, as I entered the heated cafe.

"Not a dress, but I want you to come with me on a double date, tonight." June requested, joining her hands.

"You do know I need a date for that, right? Plus I don't do dates." My eyes scanned the menu above the coffee machines.
