I went to the parking lot, smiling all the way.

I had just gotten a bonus of around £3000 pounds! I love my job.

I called my mother, like I always did when I got paid for the month.

"Mummy? I got my salary!" I yelled happily.

"How much?" She replied on the other line.

"Uhm £14000 pounds." I said slowly, keeping my excitement in check.

I walked to my car, on which June was leaning. I motioned for her to shoo.

"How much is that in INR?" She asked, clearly not very excited. But once I tell her in INR, she'll be bouncing around.

"Uhm with current rates, around 13 lakh?" I smiled.

She coughed on the other line, clearly spitting out water.

"Are you okay?" I laughed.

I could hear her calling for my father and telling him how his daughter was earning hundreds of thousands of pounds every year.

My father came on the phone. "Congratulations beta! Make sure you don't spend it all. I think you're going back home so I'll call you later. Bye, love you!" My dad laughed.

"Yes dad, bye." I hung up.

I unlocked and got in the car, June shuffling into the passenger seat.

"How much did you get this time?" She asked me, wiggling her eyebrows.

"14K." I replied, putting my sunglasses on.

June whistled as she followed suit. She turned on the heater and we were off to my place.

Sometime later, I was somehow stuck in between choosing warm dresses and packing my shoes.

"June! Where are those blood red high heels?" I yelled to the girl, who was in the other room.

"I'll get them!" I could hear her feet shuffling and soon she entered the room, carrying my asked box of heels.

"Oh thanks! Are you all packed?" I looked up.

"I am- I was done packing yesterday evening." She smiled.

"I don't know why I didn't pack when I had the day off yesterday." I stuffed in my favourite white blouse.

"Are you packing for a month or what? You need to have some space, aunty will send something." June said.

"Oh my god you're right." I sighed loudly, rubbing my head.

"Okay wait. I'll sort out your clothes and you go see your shoes. Did you mother send a picture of your lehenga?" June said, barely pronouncing the last word.

"She did, let me show you." I took my phone out and surfed the pictures, finally finding it.

"Okay, wow

"Okay, wow. You're so gonna stun in that." June smiled.

"Thanks- by the way, mom hasn't selected your outfit- she wants you to select it yourself." I put my phone in my pocket.

"Okay." June dragged the 'y', sorting my clothes.

After an hour, we were finally done with all my packing. It was around 7 when we were done packing. "Do you want dinner?" I asked.

"I'm not too hungry- I don't like eating before flights. I'll see, maybe I'll grab something at the airport." June said.

"Okay then, I'll skip out on dinner too." I said, sitting down on the couch.

We watched two movies in a row, Gone Girl and The Girl On The Train. "Ah, I love watching mysteries." I stretched.

It was currently 11. "Should we go to bed? We have a flight in 8 hours." June asked.

"Well we have to leave in 3 hours, so I don't see why we have to sleep. But let's get a power nap anyways." I nodded my head.

Me and June settled into bed, blankets pulled to our chins. "Good night." I yawned, switching off my bedside lamp.

"Night." June replied drowsily. I turned off the lights with my remote control, and stared at the dark ceiling as I always did when in thought.

I don't know what I was so worried about but I felt that something was about to happen. Good or bad I don't know but something.

Thinking that, I fell asleep.

It felt like I had just fallen asleep when my alarm rang at exactly one am. "Wake up!" I exclaimed to June, who was still sound asleep.

That girl could sleep through an earthquake.

"Wake up June, I'll not scream again!" I yelled.

That was when she woke up with a start, a hand at her heart.

"What the hell is wrong with you woman?!" June breathed loudly.

"We have a plane to catch in 6 hours?" I giggled.

We soon got ready, I was in my own bathroom while June used the living room one. I quickly wore my outift which I had selected the day before. It was a black, off shoulder top with my favourite dark blue skinny jeans and my pink and black sneakers.

I did my light makeup as usual and put my makeup essentials into my purse. I checked everything once again- my passport, plane ticket and my money wallet. I went outside, dragging my suitcase.

June stood at the dining table, texting on her phone. I took in her outift- a white tank top, her favourite red and black flannel which she wore with all the buttons undone and black leggings beneath. She had her comfy brown boots on.

Travelling in style has always been our strong point.

"Hello there." I smiled brightly at her.

"Yo." She replied without looking up. I sighed and sat down on the couch, calling our Uber.

An hour later, we were at the departures gate of London Heathrow, paying the driver.

We walked inside the heated airport, dragging our suitcases behind us. We could've taken a trolley, but this looked more chic.

Stupid, I know.

We were done with check in and security when my phone rang. "Hello mumma. Yup, done with security. Right now? It's around 4:30 am here. Yes I'll message you when I land. Bye." I hung up.

June, in the meanwhile, was exploring the duty free and knowing her, she would buy a lot of candy and perfume.

"Should we eat? I'm hungry." I whined.

"Yeah just a sec- I need these limited edition Oreos." She quickly got them billed and we walked towards the restaurant areas.

It was not long before our flight was announced and we were on our way to India.
