-the Sangeet, part two-

I stood nervously to the side of the door as the cousins made their entrance into the hall, dancing to Bollywood blockbuster songs.

I tapped my foot nervously, my sharara suddenly feeling too heavy.

"You need to calm down." June said and Naina looked at me.

"There's nothing to worry about- I'm getting married in two days and I'm not worried." Naina joked as our time of entrance came in.

"Just like how we practiced- all freestyle." Naina said, determined.

We pushed the wooden door open as the spotlight shone on us and a famous Hindi song played.

We did pure freestyle, letting lose. We walked through the audience dancing as everyone whooped for the bride.

Rohan stood on the stage and Naina joined him too and me and June departed to the side, where our side of the cousins were.

I was finally a little comfortable as I danced once. The host for the evening, was the same girl I had seen Sameer with.

"Hi guys, I'm Lindsey and I'm a really old friend of Rohan. Like we've known each other since we were in pre school. I'm half American, if that is what you're wondering. I'll be your host tonight, sharing some of our childhood stories with you all. So enjoy!" She said a little loudly on her microphone.

The first performance was by Rohan's side. Sameer wasn't included- he was dancing with the older cousins.

The kids danced to two or three hit songs after which Lindsey came on stage.

"That was a fabulous dance by the little kiddos, a round of applause!" After the cheering settled down, Lindsey spoke again.

"So I want to share this one story of mine and Rohan's from the second grade. It was Rohan's first time singing in a choir- something he is still really bad at." The audience laughed a little.

"So a girl in the choir was taking a particularly high note for a girl her age. She was a really good singer, so while she took the high note, Rohan spotted a cockroach on the floor." Lindsey paused for a second.

"And my oh my. He screamed like a baby. He screamed so loudly that even the girl taking the high note was surpassed by Rohan's high pitched scream. All the kids were shocked and many of them started crying as well." Lindsey smiled slowly.

"One kid crashed into another suddenly and the entire choir came tumbling down our makeshift class stage. I remember laughing so hard that milk came out my nose. It was surely a practice to remember." Lindsey finished as the audience cheered and clapped.

Rohan, on the other hand was red with embarrassment. Naina laughed softly, her head falling on Rohan's shoulder.

I grinned too, looking at June first and then my eyes falling on Sameer. He laughed heartily, and I quickly averted my eyes before he could realise I was staring.

I scolded myself silently- I was behaving like such a love struck teenager who had fallen in love for the first time.

"The next performance will be by the older cousins from Rohan's side. Cheers!" Lindsey said and got down the stage, talking with the DJ.
