I'm standing at Parker's front door. I haven't knocked yet. I'm almost afraid to.
I look ridiculous in the "little black dress" code. The dress goes down halfway on my thigh and has lace on the shoulders and sleeves. I had to add a touch of "me" to the outfit, so I'm wearing my Converse too.
Andrew almost lost his mind when he saw my shoes. He practically chased after me with my flats and shouting about how weird it looked.
I ring the doorbell. My hands are visibly shaking. I put them behind my back and interlock them in hopes that they won't be noticed.
Footsteps stomp toward the door. I inhale sharply and raise my eyebrows at Parker through the door.
Holy God. He looks hot.
"My, my, sunshine," he whispers heavily. "You do know how to make a guy breathless."
All the blood in my body feels like it has pooled in my cheeks. I'm sure that I'm red as a tomato right now.
I smirk. "You clean up pretty nice yourself."
He smiles and shrugs a little. "I like your Chucks."
I blush some more. "I couldn't wear the flats too. It would be too much."
He ushers me in. The room is filled with delicious aromas. My mouth fills with saliva on my first deep inhale of the room.
I hear a timer go off from the kitchen. I guess his parents are in there.
Here goes nothing...
I follow him into the kitchen where I am greeted by warm smiles of two people who like older versions of Parker and his sister, Liz. Chestnut-colored hair and dark blue eyes run in this family, for sure.
