I shouldn't be here...
I'm standing by the punch bowl, looking really awkward. People are dancing and talking, but the one person who I most want to do those things with isn't here yet.
No one in the crowd is familiar and worth talking to right now.

She's dressed like royalty, which suits her personality perfectly.
I walk over to her and tap her on the shoulder once she finishes the conversation she's in the middle of.

I'm a guy from the 18th century, attending a mascarade, just for the lack of creativity and motivation to be here. I hate Tyler Owens and everything he stands for, but he's taken interest in Jackie, and I won't let her get hurt like any other girl here did.
We have a light conversation about recent events. She's talking about this new musical she saw, and I'm doing my best to pay attention, but at that moment, my attention shifted.
Jackie's here, and damn, she's hot. God. I sound like Tyler... I inhale sharply and shift to steady myself because she almost swept me off my feet. She's beautiful. Every single inch of that girl is perfect. Every curve, every scar, every graceful sidestep she does to avoid people. Her eyes meet mine and she smiles that smile I love so much.
