Being a teenage girl is hard enough, but it's harder for Jackie since she's on the run from the US government.

It's a few days after the new year. I spent it with our group of friends, with the exception of Tyler. It was sweet because we all had a new year's kiss at midnight.
I'm standing in the mall with Del, Izzie, Marissa, and Lily.
These girls treat shopping like an extreme sport.
Meanwhile, I haven't purchased clothes since I was in Atlanta, and I technically didn't even buy the clothing...
Jonah needed a tux for his parent's work party. He made me get a dress, on him, so I could go as his date.
He hadn't come out to them yet. It was a whole thing.

What I'd give to be on a baseball field right now.
This is a kind of celebratory shopping trip, specifically for Izzie. Once her parents kicked her out, she took everything she could with her, but she had no money.
She had too much pride to take from Parker, even though he offered multiple times. She decided to get a job. Parker's parents were helpful in that regard. They set up an interview in the registration department of the hospital. It pays decent money, and she's able to buy her own food. Now, she's rewarding herself with a shopping spree.
Marissa sighs. "Since my departments are limited now," she rubs her belly. "I vote that I get to use Jackelyn as my dress-up doll!"
I laugh. "That's hilarious. There's no way in hell."
The others face me.
Oh, no.
Lily raises her eyebrows and smiles sympathetically. "Sorry, Jackie. Her pregnancy trumps you being a tomboy."
