This chapter is told from Parker's point of view!

I'm standing in front of Jackie's door in a suit.
I knock.
It's Valentine's Day. It fell on a Tuesday this year. I made sure to have this evening free. I did all of my homework for tonight last night in preparation for this.
This is our first public date. I'm taking her to one of the nicest restaurants in Austin. My parents are friends with the head chef there, and they were willing to fit us in.
I know Jackie isn't one for fancy evenings out, but it's not baseball season. I would've just gotten us tickets if it was.
She would have been so happy with that.
Andrew opens the door, wearing khakis and a polo.
"Waiting for Lily?" I ask.
He nods and moves out of the way so I can come in. "You do know you are taking Jackie out, right?" he asks as he puts on his shoes. "Jackie, as in the girl who bruises and scrapes from playing baseball?"
I lean against their bar. "I went too overboard?"
I knew this was a bad idea.
"No," he says. "Just know she may be a little uncomfortable. This is like her second official date, after Tyler."
Right. I had forgotten about that, and I really didn't need to be reminded...
Andrew looks past me and smiles.
I turn to see what he's looking at.
Jackie emerges from the hallway, wearing that black dress she wore to my birthday, a pair of flats, make up, and her hair is gelled.
"You look stunning," I say. And she absolutely does.
"Thank you," she says as she blushes.
Andrew clears his throat. "Have her home by 9:30."
