Third Person's POV

After Grim was beaten up by two spirits, one angry brother, one disappointed butler and one furious young lady, everything went back to peace.

"I hate you. All of you." The spirit was crawling in the ground with bruises all over his face. "My scythe!" He suddenly looked at the weapon that was beside him and his head met the ground once again. His scythe was full of scratches, his favorite scythe who accompanied a lot of his battles.

"Hmph. It's your fault for having a petty scythe." Zackaya crossed her arms and turned her head away.

"My scythe is not petty okay?!"

"After all, it's made by Grim itself so it should be pretty strong right?" Midnight tried to help.

"You're doubting me aren't you?!" Midnight turned his head away. Grim's face met the ground again.

"You could always make another one." Caeli raised her eyebrows.

"No!"

"I think we are straying off of from topic here. It's the birthday of Young Mistress is it not?" Rione tried to intervene.

The group then sat at the picnic blanket and started to eat.

"Mmm! This tart tastes so good!" Zackaya's eyes sparkled.

"It was Rione who baked that Young Mistress." Claude bowed.

"Really?!" She looked at the fidgeting butler. "You could be a chef someday!"

"Thank you Young Miss for the compliment." He bowed his head trying to head the blush that had spread to the tip of his ears.

This did not escape the eye of Llousander.

"Shall I tutor you again Rione? Your skills have declined." Llousander raised an eyebrow at the paling butler.

"There would be no need Young Master." He strained a smile.

"You dare to defy me?" Fire danced in Llousander's palm.

"I do not dare to Young Master." Caeli was already looking warily at him.

The end result was Llousander chasing the poor butler all over the garden. Rione is aided by the wind in running faster because he simply could not compare to the young master's skills which he honed for years.

Meanwhile, Zackaya was happily eating her cake, with Grim and Midnight having a useless banter, Uncle Claude watching all of them with a smile and Caeli watching delightedly at her poor master which she helped from time to time.

All in all, the whole morning was full of laughter and smiles.

But it never did last.

In the afternoon, rain started to pour down harshly on the roof. Lightning and thunder can be seen in the graying clouds from time to time.

The mood of the whole house was somber as if mourning for something that they had lost.

Zackaya was meanwhile napping in a chair with an open book in her lap, forgotten.

The door creaked open and a person came into the room.

He draped a blanket over the sleeping child and looked at the scene with unshed tears.

It reminded him of a scene 12 years ago, before it started.

-Flashback-

"My Dear!" A young woman, twenty-five years of age was sitting in a king-sized bed.

The scene was something straight out of a movie.

"Tori." Arvyl smiled at the young woman.

"You left me for days and you in only call me by my name when we met again?!" Tori pouted. Her golden curls were draped around her shoulders as she looked at him quite menacingly.

"I am sorry about that My Dear. I just wanted to see our child." He smiled softly at her.

"From now on, she is not your child!" He was surprised at her outburst. "You did not even kiss your wife after leaving her for weeks! If you do not love me, how could you even love her?!"

Arvyl could only laugh softly at his childish wife.

"I am sorry My Dear." He approached her and kissed her forehead.

"Hmph! I'm still angry at you!" She crossed her arms and looked away.

"My Dear~" He sat on the bed and hugged his pouting wife. "I am deeply sorry okay? You do know on what is happening around the kingdom right? It's just that your dear husband had to stay for a few more days."

She flinched at what he said.

"Did they appear?" She murmured softly.

"Yes." He knew that his wife was starting to panic as her grip on his hand began to tighten. "But, your greatest warrior defeated all of them for you." He said softly in her ear.

"I have wondered a long time ago, the consequences of them finding me."

He drew back his hug as he watches his wife clench her hands in his clothes.

"I had wondered on what would happen if they found out about me. About our child. "

"Victoria." He said her name softly. " Look at me."

His wife's face turned to look at him.

He gently wiped the tears falling from her eyes and cupped her hands in her face.

"I'm here. I will be always your knight in shining armor. Always. And you try to fulfill your role as a damsel in distress won't you?"

-Flashback End-

"You did not fulfill your role didn't you?" Llousander stood beside his father, looking at his sister softly.

"She never played the damsel in distress very well." He chuckled softly. "

"I knew that she didn't." Llousander chuckled softly. "I heard that you'll tell everything to Zackaya today."

"I can't spoil the merry mood. I know that I promised her, but how can I tell her that her mother is someone hated by all? That her father turned against her in turn of protecting a fake king?"

"You have made her as an outcast in society for years. Do make an effort once in a while."

"I know. It's all my fault."

Llousander turned his back and went out of the room.

Arvyl looked at Zackaya one more time before leaving too.

Zackaya opened her eyes when she made sure that no one was around.

Tears started to stream down her face as she looked at the door.

"It was never your fault."

A voice drifted from the window. It was soft and sweet.

"Should I forgive him?" Zackaya asked.

"It is your choice, my dear. I had forgiven him a long time ago when he pierced his sword on my heart. I had already forgiven him. "
