Chapter 15

I was shocked as I listened to Ethan, those three words struck my heart badly, those words made me think about Christian, my eyes filled with tears, and suddenly I looked at the mirror and Ethan had this scared face.

"What's wrong?" I asked,

"I don't know, she blacked out again" Ethan responded,

"Maybe she just fell asleep, you sleep too." I said,

I sat
straight and finally rested my back to the chair and slept. I woke up the sunlight hitting my eyes, It hurt so I covered them, then I realized someone blocked the sun then I saw Christian standing there but he looked like he was a zombie and he came to me, I tried calling Ethan but when I turned around, he was already a zombie so was Audrey and I screamed.

I jolted awake, I slightly jumped from the seat, I looked around the car and Ethan was still asleep and his head was lying at Audrey's lap while Audrey was awake already, she was drinking a juice with a straw, and she looked at me.

"Kath, you're awake." She said,

"Wait, Audrey, you blacked out last night." I said confusingly,

"Yeah, but I feel fine when I woke." Audrey said,

Audrey's left thumb rubbed Ethan's face, I smiled a little and remembered that Christian used to do that to me, I vastly turned my head to look at the front, no zombies were there, I still remembered my dream, a tear rolled down my cheek, and Audrey saw it.

"Are you okay?" Audrey asked,

"Yes." I responded,

"No." I said,

"I don't know." I said as I started crying,

Audrey lifted Ethan's head and made him sleep while he sat, Audrey sat beside me.

"Christian, right?" Audrey asked,

I nodded.

"I know that feeling, that's what I always feel, since our mother died, that's what I felt always." Audrey said,

"Don't worry, I'm here." Audrey said as she extended both of her arms,

She hugged me and tapped my shoulder, she rubbed my shoulder next and we started to pull away, I saw Ethan woke and rubbed his eyes.

"Yo, what up with the drama?" Ethan asked,

"You're awake." Audrey said happily,

I saw Audrey how she was happy with Ethan, it was like they were together but it still wasn't confirmed, I watched them happily and I thought of them as Me and Christian.

"Well, let's travel?" I asked,

They both nodded, so I happily drove the car, I drove them to a park, also where we used to spend some time, Audrey smiled as she saw the park.

"This was supposed to be beautiful, but I guess it's now raided by zombies." She said as her smile vanished,

"I know, this is also the first place we hang." I said,

She nodded.

"Past memories from beautiful places will be cherished these days I guess." Ethan said,

We both laughed, and I drove somewhere again, this time I drove us to our favorite beach, Audrey was surprised, also Ethan was, but the only thing that ruined the beautiful scene of the beach was the blood from the sands, I sigh and rested my back on the seat.

"You okay?" Ethan asked,

"Yeah."

I suddenly thought about the briefcase, I looked around the car even under each seats, I didn't found the briefcase, I think I left it at the room in the Hospital, I let out a deeper sigh and the radio let out a static sound, suddenly a man's voice spoke.

"Hello there! Are you still outside the evacuation? Don't worry, we're coming back but we'll tell you the news in the Hospital, there were few survivors that came and we got the briefcase from a room where there were zombies, some of the people survived but some became zombies as they came to the roof, the family didn't wanted us to shoot but we had to, we felt sorry so we helped them move on from that incident and day, some people survived that day and now they will be moved to the evacuation center, if you are still out there, catch up on us from the Hospital, we're gonna come back for the family that called us, we are on the way, bye bye now."

My mind vastly worked and I drove to the Hospital, I was doing my best  until I saw an helicopter passed by us, Ethan exchanged seats with me and he drove like a maniac, he seriously focused on the road, the helicopter faded in the distance, I was starting to think we might not arrive in a right time, then we started to slow down.

"What's happening?" I asked,

"We're running out of gas."
