Chapter 17

Audrey

My eyes widened as I heard what Ethan said, the zombies were surrounding the car and I took out the gun from my pocket.

"We can't fight them, if we open the windows they'll break it immediately and they'll come in." Ethan said,

I didn't know what to do anymore, I wanted to kill them all, I placed back the gun to my pocket and covered both my ears, the zombies kept pounding the window until there was a gunshot out the car, the zombies turned around and we didn't saw who it was, but he or she was being followed by the zombies, finally I saw her and she was a woman, she was with a man, they both climbed up the Pyramid and shoot them all, there were too many zombies for them to handle so I helped shooting the zombies, suddenly Ethan went out the car and took the carkeys, he came back immediately.

"What are you doing?" I asked,

"Don't worry, I'm not leaving them behind." Ethan responded,

He started the engine but he still didn't drove, he just honk the horn, half of the zombies came, and I shot them all, I also shot the zombies that were almost at the top of the Pyramid, it was hard to climb because of the small stairs so the zombies kept falling, the woman and man ran out of bullets and used their rifles to hit them with it, they started running towards us and went in.

"Thanks." The woman said breathing quickly,

She was like in her late 30's and also was the man.

"What's your name?" I asked,

"I'm Felicia and this is my brother Collin." She introduced,

I stopped asking immediately as I heard they were family, Kath looked out the window from her side, we all fell to silence but I broke it.

"Did one of you got bit?" I asked,

"No, we also had a truck but they were surrounded by zombies so we tried escaping." The woman said as she reloaded her gun,

"Are you sure? You can tell us the truth." I said,

"Promise." She said holding her hand at her head level,

"Okay." I said,

I sat down quietly as we traveled, Ethan was focused on the road but somehow I kept looking at him, he is handsome when he's serious, I didn't know I was smiling until I saw Kath was smiling at me.

"What?" I asked,

"Oh, nothing." Kath responded,

"It's just, you have been looking at a beautiful or you would say handsome scenery." Kath continued,

"Shut up." I said,

We continued traveling, a man's voice suddenly spoke in the middle of the news.

"Boy oh boy, the zombies on the front gate seems to be growing, they were growing more zombies, good thing the gate was made of metal, we also putted electric devices where if you step this rope, you'll get zap by an electric, those are the only updates we can give you bye."

"Man, those zombies would never stop." Felicia said,

"Yeah." Collin said,

"They're crazy." I mumbled,

"They'll always be, girl." Felicia said,

"Wait, at the park? How'd you find us?" I asked,

"Finally, you asked." Felicia said,

Suddenly, Collin pointed his gun at me, Kath pointed his gun at Collin, Felicia pointed his gun at Kath, and Ethan pointed his gun at Felicia.

"What is going on?" I asked scaredly as I raised both of my arms in the air,

"We were supposed to take the briefcase from you, but since we heard the news, about the briefcase being taken already, we had no choice but to get you." Felicia explained,

"Why would you want the briefcase? I thought you two weren't bitten?" I asked,

"We aren't, but our family are." She responded,

"You boy, you must drive us to the Evacuation Center, and we'll steal the briefcase." Felicia said looking at Ethan,

"We can't go in there if we don't ride a helicopter." I said,

"We'll go through the front gate, kill those zombies and get in."

"There a hundreds of them, we can't take them."

"We don't have to kill them all, we'll just have to get pass to the Evacuation."

"If any of you try to escape, Collin and I will have no choice but to pull the trigger on you." Felicia continued,

We all fell to silence and they altogether put down their guns, Ethan started to travel, I had lot of thoughts in my mind like, Is this the day I'll die? Or will I survive? Is Kath gonna be okay? Will we make it? What if I get bitten? Will they cure me? Or just leave me turn into a zombie?, I thought a lot that Ethan noticed already, he looked at me through the mirror then focused on the road.

Later at night, we were almost there, and we started to see zombies, just then we saw the front gate, and they were right, herds of zombies are blocking the way in the front gate, the front gate couldn't be broken because it was metal, Ethan stopped the car and the carlights made the zombies look at us.

"Time to kill them." Felicia mumbled,

Felicia opened the window at her side and started shooting.

"Get out of the car you three and kill." Collin shouted,

I grabbed my gun and started shooting, Felicia and Collin stepped out of the car too and started shooting them with their rifles, zombies started to fell on the ground but bunch of them are near us, we back out as we shoot and I realized the little stairs at my side, and I had an Idea.
