Chapter 14

Youngjae, Jaebum, and Jinyoung are some of the last people to arrive, Dany and Rosy being the very last. Mr. Divins does attendance and then he shooes everyone off to get their baggage checked into the airplane. By the time everyone has gathered with their hand-on luggage in front of the security check-in, the large clock above the entrance to the airport reads that it is just before seven-thirty. 

It takes a long time to get through the security check and Youngjae, who is stood behind Jaebum when the security checks their bodies, can see Jaebum hesitating and not wanting to raise his arms to get patted down.

Eventually, about fifteen minutes before their airplane is called to leave, Mr. Divins sends everyone out to do something of their own to spend the remaining time, and while most people stay in the waiting area to read, draw, or do something else of their own, Jaebum pulls Youngjae in line to a place that serves smoothies.

"Excited to go to Disneyland?" Jaebum asks after they receive their smoothies.

Youngjae nods, "Hell yeah, I really want to go on Splash Mountain and on the Jungle Cruise."

"And Space Mountain," Jaebum grins. "We can try everything, we have a lot of time to spend in Disneyland."

Youngjae nods and their flight gets called over the intercom, so they quickly make their way to the rest of the band, standing by them to listen to what Mr. Divins had to say.

"We have a whole section for us, except for the front few chairs," Mr. Divins says. "Some of you will get the window-seats, others won't and will have to sit next to another passenger. Please be respectful of the other passengers, so that means to be quiet if the lights go out for people to sleep, do not run up and down the path between the chairs, no swearing or yelling or disrupting, and do not bother any passengers when you're, say, waiting in line to use the washroom. Remember, you are a representative of our school, so act like it."

Everyone nods and Mr. Divins continues.

"Yugyeom's mom, Mrs. Kim, will be standing by the washrooms, so know that you cannot pass her. I will lead you all to where we have to go to sit, you all can fight out who gets to sit where and with who. Your ticket-seats don't exactly matter right now. Lunch will be served on the airplane, along with any other drinks and snacks unless you have brought or just bought your own. If there are any allergies," he looks at a few people, including Youngjae, "of food or anything else when the stewards and stewardesses help you, please notify them. Those who have food allergies, I put in your allergies on the website's allergy list, so when they serve you lunch ask for something lactose-free or anything else-free from your allergy."

When most of the other passengers are on the plane, Mr. Divins leads everyone to get their passports checked and then Mrs. Kim and Mr. Divins lead the students into the airplane, the last five chaperones at the rear of the group to keep everyone together. 

In the airplane itself, Yugyeom and Kunpimook take the initiative to help others put their stuff away due to the fact that they are the tallest among the band, and after a bit of back-and-forth arguing Jaebum and Youngjae sit together at the window while Jinyoung sits with Toby Davis, one of the flutes, in front of them with Yugyeom and Kunpimook claiming the seats behind them.

Jaebum is kind enough to let Youngjae sit by the window, and he pulls out the five bags his mom gave him before he left as a stewardess comes by and checks the overhead compartments to make sure everything is closed and well for take-off.

"Here," Jaebum leans forward and hands one of the bags to Jinyoung and then pushes two of the bags through the two backrests of the chair to give them to Yugyeom and Kunpimook, handing the last one to Youngjae, "My mom always makes these before field trips."
