Y/N
You awoke the next morning without Loki beside you. Loki acted like a gentleman the previous night, he said he would give you chance and he slept on your makeshift bed directly below the window. Your eyes scanned the room, Loki was no where to be found. You gone to freshen up before heading to the living room where you found Loki on the couch, reading. Upon hearing your footsteps, Loki looks up from his book and smiled at you. "Thank you for the clothes," Loki stands up, showing off the clothes you brought for him. You laughed, shaking your head. "It came quite early. Deliveries usually arrive at 9am." You shrugged to which Loki looked at you, amused. "What time do you think it is, darling?" Darling. That's a new one. "It's 7am. Don't test me, Loki. I know my sleeping schedule." You replied confidently, putting your hands on your hips.
"Your intelligence is great, Lady Y/N. If I am correct, the machine that tells time is called a clock and the clock shows that it is 3 in the afternoon." Loki cheekily said. Your eyes widen and you pulled out your phone. Loki was right, it was 3pm. "I slept that long? My god." You shook your head in disbelief. "Yes?" Loki smirked. "That joke is getting old, Loki." You headed to the kitchen and made a simple breakfast for the both of you. You sat beside Loki on the couch, taking a quick glance at the book he was reading. That was when you noticed 3 more books on the table in front of the couch. The four books were about stars which made your heart flutter. Did he really take the time to read them? The previous night, before you fell into a deep sleep, you told Loki he should read your books if he had time. "Have you finished reading the three other books?" Loki nods, placing the book he was reading into the pile. "I had nothing to do, sweetheart. I wanted to wake you but I thought it would be rude of me to do so."
"Can I ask you something?" Loki faces you to show that he was listening. "How does Natasha know me?" You assumed Loki know who Natasha was since she was looking for him. Loki pondered for a while but then finally found the words to make a sentence. "Well, it isn't my place to tell you that." You pouted and hit Loki's shoulder. "No fair!" Loki smiled but you could tell it was forced. "I'm sorry if I keep upsetting you," you started. "It's just before you showed up, everything was different. I never really spoke before you arrived. I speak less because of I know things that I'll say would hurt someone. Like what I'm doing to you. I keep asking you questions that you obviously don't want to answer. Is there a way for you to make me lose my voice? I think that'll help," your voice wondered off and you looked down at your lap. "Now, sweetheart, why would I do that? As irritating as you are, I cannot help but want to listen to you speak."
"Say, tonight, do you want to watch the stars?"
Later that night, you and Loki went out and walked down the road to the tree. Once you reached the tree, you started to climb, knowing exactly where to place your foot and hands. Loki followed where you placed your hands and legs, not wanting to fall and embarrass himself in front of you. You both reach the top of the tree and sat on the same thick branch you always sat on. From the branch, there were very little leaves blocking your view and you could see the stars. You swinged your dangling legs as you admired the stars. You thought Loki was doing the same but Loki was actually watching you with admiration in his eyes. "Loki, look at those stars, don't they look like flowers?" Loki nods, not looking at where you were pointing but at you. "Pretty." You mumbled. "Yes, you are." Loki said. After registering that sentence, you turn to look at him, pink tainting your cheeks. "I.." You could not find the words to form a sentence. Loki lifted his hand and his fingers gently caressed your cheek. His eyes went to your lips and he lightly touched them. "I wonder how your lips would feel on mine," Loki whispered, bringing his face close to yours. You shut your eyes, waiting for his lips to touch yours.
"Brother, get down here. " The voice was deep and caused you to pull away from Loki. You knew no one could see you from the where both of you were so how did this deep voiced man find the two of you? "Y/F/N you as well. " Natasha. You were about to start climbing down when Loki grabbed your arm. He placed his finger to his lips, telling you to stay quiet. "Tony, you know what to do." Natasha said. A sound of something being fired was heard and the tree shook violently. The tree began to fall to one side. Loki put his arm around your waist and the next thing you knew, you were on ground level with Loki and faced three people. Natasha being the only one you recognized. There was a man in a suit and a tall man with blonde hair and a hammer. A loud thump came from behind you causing you to look behind.
You gasped as your eyes filled with tears. No. The sight of the tree made your heart break. Your friend. You made a promise. That was the part of the story where you left out. You made a promise with your friend to never let anyone destroy the tree so that she could visit and watch the stars with you even after death. Your tears fell as you fell to your knees. You broke your promise. "Why did you do that?" Loki shouts. You looked up at him with a blurry vision. Loki looked furious and his fingers were balled into fists. "If you weren't stubborn, that could have been avoided." Natasha says.
Loki's clothes changed to his armour and he swinged his fist at the man with the hammer.
