Chapter 10: "Fury"

"Zoey. Can you hear me?" I slightly hear someone say as I slowly open my eyes.

My vision is blurry and I look to my surroundings to notice that I'm in the old Hale house.

"Zoey." I look towards the sound of the voice to see Deaton hovering above me and my vision clears.

"What happened ?" I ask sitting up.

"I'll explain once I get Derek awake."

I look to the side of me to see a passed out Derek and I laugh when Deaton pulls out a dog whistle from his pocket. Lucky for me that I don't have superhearing anymore and Derek quickly comes to, slightly panting.

"That sound - What was it?" Derek asks sitting up as well.

Deaton holds up the dog whistle with a smirk and Derek scoffs standing up from the floor. But almost stumbled over in the process and Deaton quickly catches him. "You're both gonna be weak for several hours." Deaton tells us as he slowly helps me off of the ground.

Derek and I stare at the hole in the floor as memories flood through both of us.

"It actually happened." Derek states.

"Don't worry. You're still an Alpha." Deaton reasurres him as he puts the dog whistle around his neck. "But, as usual, not a particularly competent one."

"Where is he?" Derek demands.

"I wish I could tell you."

"Then how about you tell me what you're doing here, and why you're helping me." He says completely leaving me out of the conversation, not like it hasn't happened before.

"Helping your family actually used to be a pretty important part of my life. Helping you was a promise I made to your mother."

"You're the one my sister talked about. She said you're a - kind of advisor?"

"She was right. And I have some advice that you need to listen to very closely right now. What Peter managed to do doesn't come without a price. He'll be physically weak, so he'll rely on the strength of his intelligence, his cunning. He's gonna come at you, Derek. He'll try to twist his way inside your head, praying on your insecurities. He'll tell you that he's the only way you can stop Gerard. Do not trust him."

"I don't trust anyone." Derek simply states which I know is a lie.

"I know. If you did, you might be the Alpha you like to think you are. But its a lie because you trust Zoey." He says nodding towards me. "And unfortunately, the only other person you should trust, doesn't trust you at all."

"Scott."

"He's with Stilinski right now. You need to find him, you need to find him as fast as you can. I've known Gerard for a long time. He always had a plan. Something tells me - it's going exactly the way he wants it to."

"What about me?" I ask Deaton finally speaking up. "Why did Peter need me too, just to be resurrected?"

"Because, Zoey. You're a lot stonger than you think you are. Like now for example, Derek is still very weak. But you, you don't even feel anything that has happened an hour ago, do you?"
