Zacha nearly dropped the stack of books on his foot when he saw the pile of scrolls higher then his head. The lives of the judged were recorded in them and it was intelligence reapers' jobs to read through them and judge weather the person had lived a worth life.

But this??? This had to be illegal. Collection reapers had scroll work too, but would they ever get this much? Probably not!

As he examined the scrolls, the answer came to him. On a sticky note, in Azure's handwriting.

I need you to take care of some of these for me, thx, I owe you, I won't make any redhead jokes for two days.

Zacha scowled. There was going to be some hell to pay for this.

Eris could hear them arguing before they entered the office. There was time to escape, she could hide in the closet and pretend not to be there. It was worth a shot, but then again hiding was for the weak.

She was in charge still. If anything they should dread talking to her.

"Tell this blue haired prick" Zacha said, kicking open the door. "That he cannot dump his work on me if the freaking apocalypse arrived!!!!"

Eris sighed. "Shut up, both of you. This is stupid. Every single day I break up at least three different equally pointless arguments."

"Well if he didn't start them-"

"If he wouldn't complain-"

"QUIET!" Eris yelled. This was getting out of control. Why couldn't they just get along?

They were silent now but Eris could see the mutual hatred reflected in their eyes.

"That is enough, I mean it." Eris said."Reports of demon attacks are escalating. They're claiming more and more souls. Without our lady to return balance, we're on our own until she returns. Demons have destroyed several reapers beyond repair."

"Aww you're worried about us." Azure said lightly.

"On the contrary." Eris said. "If I lose two reapers on the job I'm never getting a promotion."

At least that shut them both up for a minute.

"Anyways, it's good you're already in here, I was going to send someone to find you." Eris said. "There's going to be a death spree, a big one. We need to be down there collecting as many souls as possible before the demons arrive there."

"And what am I supposed to do?" Zacha asked lightly. "Read them all away?"

"On the contrary." Eris said. "I got the papers authorized to loan you a scythe for this."

Zacha had to fight to keep the feminine sounding squeal. This was actually happening.

"Try not to cut yourself to pieces." Azure said quietly.

"I'll cut you to pieces!" Zacha yelled.

Eris sighed. This was probably a big mistake.

Azure had been feeling strange all day. It hadn't been the mysterious sickness, it had been something else. Something had changed in the mortal realm, Something important.

"Are you going to stare out the window or are you going to do something useful?" Zacha asked. He was trying out different poses with his new scythe.
