"This place is nice," I say as we walk into the arcade. It was a large building with lots of arcade games, a laser tag arena room thing (I don't know what they're called), and areas where kids can have parties. I felt a little weird because we were the only adults here without children. We're not that mature though so I guess it doesn't really matter.
We go and get our cards to play the arcade games. "I really don't like these cards," John complains. "I miss when you had to put the coin in the game and you got the tickets."
"Why?" Riley asks.
"I don't know," John shrugs. "I just like holding my tickets in my hand and brag about how much I got."
I grab my card and frown. "I don't like them either."
We walk up to the counter and decide we want to play three rounds of laser tag. Our first round starts at 11:30, so we had a half an hour to kill. We didn't get to chose our names either, they were assigned to us. "What are your names?" Tracy asks. "Mines Blazer Tag..."
"I'm Dizzy Family Fun," Riley replies.
"Mine is Thing 3," I say.
"I got Cupcake..." John says, clearly annoyed at the name. I laugh.
--Time Skip--
It was time for our third and final game. I was surprisingly doing really well. We walked into the room where the worker gave the instructions for the game. I noticed two adults standing in one corner of the room, while the four of us went to the other one. I look across the room at the two other adults. I squinted my eyes and reckognized one of them.
He's back...
"Josh is standing in the corner over there," I whisper to Riley.
She looks at the other corner. "Who is he with," She asks.
I look over there again. "Tyler," I reply.
She nods her head and the worker begins to explain how to play the game. He then tells us to get geared up, so we do. I follow Riley, Tracy, and John into the final room where we play the game. Our teams weren't chosen yet. The worker said that there will be two different teams this round. In the previous rounds, there were four.
"You know what would suck?" I laugh as we try to find a place to hide.
"What?" Tracy asks.
"If all of you were on the red team and I was the only one on blue," I instantly regret saying that. A deep voice begins to count down on the speakers. We are about to see what team we are on.
"3...2...1..."
I look down. I'm on the blue team. I then look at Riley. She's on the red team. I look behind me at John and Tracy. Both are on the red team. "You can't be serious!" I shout as I run away. I try to find another blue person. As I'm running I bump into someone.
"Oh my gosh a fellow blue member!" He says. "(Y/n)?"
"Josh?" I ask. "I'm so happy that I have someone that I know on my team! My cousins are all on the red team."
"Same! Tyler was put on the red team and I got worried," I see Josh smile. "Follow me, I know a great place."
He brings me to a place that was elevated off the ground. We duck down behind a wall and begin to shoot any red person we see. "You're good at this," I say.
"Thanks," he smiles. "You're not too bad yourself."
I stand up, fire at someone, then crouch back down. "You shot Cupcake," it said on my gun. I laugh quietly.
"Cupcake?" Josh heard me laugh.
"REALLY (Y/N)!?" I hear John yell from across the room.
Josh and I laugh. "That's my cousin, John."
We were doing really well together. I was really proud of myself... and then the red started invading. "Oh no!" Josh shouts.
"Why are there so many of them?!" I yell as they begin to run up the slopes that lead to our area. "What do we do? I'm scared!"
"We need to run and go," Josh says.
"DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DoOoOoOo," I begin to sing as he grabs my hand and we run.
( ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) I finally got to use the phrase 'run and go')
We both got shot on the way down but we luckily found a new place. It was on the floor but it was small and a great hiding spot. We were able to see if anyone was coming our way before they could see us.
The game was about to end. "I think red is winning," Josh tells me.
"Blue team wins," The voice says over the speakers.
"Maybe not," Josh says.
"We won!" I cheer.
"Yeah!" He gives me a high five. We both take our gear off and leave for the arcade area.
"There's Tyler," I point at him. "Hey, he's talking to my cousins."
We walk over to them and say hi. "Oh my gosh you're Josh Dun," Riley says in fangirl mode.
"The one and only," Josh smiles and looks at me.
"I've told Riley many stories about you guys. She's a huge fan," I tell the two. "I wanted to introduce her to you two but- nevermind."
"Well it's nice to finally meet you," Tyler says.
"Are these the guys from Fall Out Boy?" John asks.
"I wish I was a member of Fall Out Boy," Josh says.
"Josh!" Tyler frowns. "But me too..."
"No, this is Twenty One Pilots," Riley tells John.
We talk a little longer about the laser tag game and stuff. For once things finally felt... normal.
"Well, we should go," I smile at Tyler and Josh. "That was our last game and my legs are sore. That was probably the most squats I've done ever."
"Same," Josh laughs. "It was great to see you again."
Josh hugs me. I couldn't react so I just hugged him back. What is happening? Is he still dating Debby? No, a hug doesn't mean anything. This is fine.
"Bye!" I smile nervously. Riley, John, and Tracy say goodbye too and we leave.
--Josh's P.o.V.--
"Was that a bad idea?" I ask Tyler as we walk around the arcade.
"No, it was just a friendly hug," Tyler assures me. "I don't think anyone saw it, and if they did they probably wouldn't think it was anything romantic."
"But we were the only two to hug," I begin to worry. "I don't even think I hugged Riley. (Y/n) didn't hug you..."
"You and (Y/n) haven't talked to each other in like a week," Tyler says. "fans will probably just think it was an apology hug."
"Yeah, but what if some fans didn't notice that we weren't talking," I babbled. "What if-"
"Stop worrying, Josh," Tyler stops walking. "We can always explain to the fans what was going on if something happens."
"Yeah but-"
"No buts," Tyler stops me. "Let's stop talking about this and just play the arcade games."
I nod my head and smile.
