Brad's P.O.V:

I can't believe Jenna was singing at the talent show - was she trying to ruin our reputation as a couple... Or worse, my own reputation? If she thought for a second that announcing to a few hundred people at our school's talent show that she was through with me was going to embarrass me, she was wrong.

I know I won't be over her for a while, but I know she'll only come running back after she realises how much of a loser Ben is. My plan was to drive over to her place and tell her parents exactly what she had been doing tonight. Little Miss McDougall wasn't such a perfect daughter after all.

Knocking on the door, I was surprised at how quick Jenna's mother answered. She frowned, motioning for me to come in.

"What's wrong?" she asked, sitting down on the lounge beside her husband as I sat across from them.

"Well you see, I asked Jenna to come over for dinner" I frowned, putting on a concerned voice. "She said she was busy, but-"

"Oh, Jenna offered to help set and pack up the equipment at tonight's talent show" her father explained, causing me to stifle a laugh. Did she think she could keep lying like that?

"I hate to say it, but Jenna has lied to you the entire time! She was actually performing with a band and they call themselves Tonight Alive... After that, she did some lame- I mean, a duet with Ben. I assume that's whose house she'll be staying at tonight" I explained, sighing. Her parents seemed nothing less than gobsmacked and my plan seemed to be working. It's not like I'm making this stuff up.

Jenna's mum opened her mouth to speak, but closed it as she looked down at her phone. After reading whatever the text was, she looked up and raised an eyebrow. "It was Jenna, she's staying the night at Ben's."

Seems like my prediction was right and this time, I was going to make that nerd Ben wish he hadn't met Jenna.

Ben's P.O.V:

"So, this is where all the magic happens?" Jenna questioned, flopping down on my bed.

"Just about none of it, actually" I laughed, lying down beside her on the bed.

"So, now that we're finally alone without any interruptions-" Jenna began, just as my mum walked in.

We both laughed at the situation, looking up at my mum standing at my door way.

"Just wanted to say hi!" Ben's mum smiled, giving Jenna a wave. "This is the first time Ben has ever bought a girl home."

"And we'd like to be alone, please. Goodnight, mum" I spoke in an embarrassed tone, closing the door behind my mother after she'd walked away laughing.

"I'm honoured that I'm the first girl you've bought home" Jenna smiled, turning on her side to face me after I'd joined her on the bed again. "Thanks again for everything you've done. Especially having my back that night."

"It's fine. I'm just glad we can be friends. You're special, Jenna" I looked back over at Jenna, returning her smile.

After spending a few hours talking to each other, we both got to learn a lot about one another. Turns out we both have a lot in common, and Jenna is even cooler than I already thought she was.

"It's getting late... Goodnight Ben" Jenna spoke between yawning, leaning to my bedside lamp as she switched it off.

"Goodnight Jenna" I whispered, getting under my blankets.

Jenna fell asleep in my arms, which I was not expecting to happen. I had a pretty good sleep and when I woke up, I decided to make us both some breakfast.
