Jenna's P.O.V:

Looking at my reflection in the mirror, I grinned at my new look. My hair wasn't blonde anymore - it was bright green.

I sat on my bed, thinking about song ideas and writing down lyrics. My parents would be home any time now. I was in enough trouble for being with Ben today and singing at the talent show, as well as now having dyed my hair - which they don't know about yet. I heard my phone ring and smiled to myself as I saw a picture of Whak light the screen up.

"Hey! What's up?" I greeted him.

"Hey Jenna, I have some exciting news!" He answered, sounding really happy.

"Do tell" I was pretty curious to what it could be.

"Well, that day we were practising for the talent show - singing Thank You & Goodnight - Matty thought it would be a cool idea to record us on his phone. And let's just say, it was the best thing he could of ever of done for us" he explained.

I listened, grinning excitedly. "How so?!"

"Well, someone at the talent show came to us after you left, and asked us for a demo. The recording was the only close thing we had to a demo, so we gave them a copy. Turns out the guy was there because he's an ex-student, and wanted to scout a new musician or band, and he was pleased with how we sounded! He wants us to go to the studio where he works - which is Fearless Records - and record a proper demo" he explained further.

"Ahhhh!" I was gobsmacked, and took a moment to take it all in. Was this really happening? Were we really this lucky? "That's amazing Whak! When do we do it? What shall we sing?" I questioned him.

"It's tomorrow! I reckon Thank You & Goodnight will be a good one to record" he answered.

"Sounds good to me" I replied, shortly after hearing my parents park the car on the driveway. "I'll come over to your place tomorrow morning, and we'll all have a group meeting. My parents just got back - wish me luck?"

"Oh gosh. I hope she's not too mad. Well, I'll see you then. Best of luck!" He answered.

I was so happy by what Whak just told me that suddenly, all my worries slipped away. So what if my parents don't like my band? So what if they don't like my hair? I wasn't changing for anyone - not even them.

"Jenna honey! Come down here - we need to talk!" I heard my mum call for me.

I slowly walked down the stairs, almost laughing as my mum turned around from putting her stuff down on the counter - the look on her face was priceless.

"Jenna! What have you done?!" She almost yelled, clutching her mouth.

"What have I done? I've done something for myself - for once" I smiled, walking casually over to the couch. There was no use fighting with my parents.

"B-b-but how about school? What if you want a job?!" She questioned, following me to the couch.

"Mum - It's just my hair. I like it and frankly, I don't give a damn who doesn't" I smiled again, which I'm pretty sure was getting on her nerves - unintentional of me. "A job? I needn't worry about a job. I'm in a band."

"What's this about a band?" My father said, walking in from outside where he was putting the car into the garage.

"I'm in a band. I'm sure Brad explained everything already" I shrugged.

"Oh yes. Lovely Brad came over last night and informed us about... What was it? Morning Alive?" my mother asked.

"Tonight Alive! We're a band and we're recording a demo with a record label tomorrow" I grinned, awaiting them to tell me I couldn't do such a thing.
