Ben's P.O.V:
"Please, please stay?" I begged Jenna.
My family had all just arrived and I wanted Jenna to stay so I had someone to talk to. Besides, I wanted everyone to meet her.
"I don't know them..." She trailed off with a shrug.
"Please. Just this once" I smiled, wrapping her into a hug.
"Sure. I'll stay. Promise me we can come back up here and talk more though?" She asked, holding onto me.
"Of course" I replied before leading Jenna downstairs.
"Everyone, this is Jenna" I smiled to my aunt and uncle, grandparents and two cousins as well as my parents.
"Are you two together?" My aunt asked with a raised eyebrow, taking a sip from her mock-tail.
"No!" I replied, while at the same time Jenna said "Something like that". It was pretty awkward, as you can imagine.
"Well, it's good to have you back Ben" Kylie smiled.
I took Jenna over to the esky to get a drink. I was usually the 'anti-social' one at these things but thankfully today I had Jenna. I was still pretty embarrassed about earlier but I just had to let it slide.
"Your family is nice" Jenna smiled, picking up a can of coke.
"They can be" I laughed, putting my arm around her as we walked back over to everyone.
"So Jenna, what do you do for a living?" Kylie asked. "Or are you in a band like Ben?"
"Yes, I'm in a band. We're called Tonight Alive. Ben and I are touring together at the moment" Jenna proudly smiled.
"Have you ever thought of a proper job?" My Aunty asked with a smile, not realising how rude she sounded.
"Well I believe that being in a band is a proper job. Just like Ben does" Jenna answered, not hiding her hurt expression.
"Fair enough" Kylie shrugged. "How long have you both known each other?"
"I met Ben five years ago, in high school. We've only recently been able to reunite" Jenna sighed, holding my had under the table.
She really didn't have to justify herself to my Aunt. I was pretty confused, Kylie was never like this. Was there something she didn't like about Jenna? What's not to like about her?
"Oh, so you're the one who dumped and left Ben that time?" My Aunt scoffed. Oh no...
Mentally face palming, I knew it was time for Kylie to put a sock in it. I was very upset at the time and I guess I talked about Jenna like that but she has apologised and I forgave her. With my Aunt's comment, Jenna let go of my hand. Damn it.
"Yes. If you knew me, you'd know that I had to. I- I had no choice" Jenna answered.
"Yeah I'm sure you didn't" Kylie smiled, which was getting on Jenna's nerves.
"Jenna, I heard you'll be writing a new album with your band. How is that going?" My mother asked, trying to shut Kylie up.
"Oh it's great, thank you" Jenna smiled, her face lighting up. The way she got so excited about music was adorable.
"That's great news!" My Mum beamed. "You should do some sort of duet with Ben, that'd be nice."
"I suppose so" Jenna nodded with a faint smile. Was she upset with me now? Can I ever do things right?
"What're you going to call your album? Songs To Run Away To?" Kylie cruelly joked.
The comment caused a laugh to come from my father's mouth but he soon shook his head and sighed as if she shouldn't have said it.
