Chapter 2

Ruby's POV

After the true blood who purchased me left, master Val quickly released me from Zoe's cage and sent me to the shower room.

I took a quick shower and dressed up in what master Val always made the purchased female pets wear. It was a short sleeveless red dress.

I can't remember the last time I wore something nice. However, the feeling of the soft fabric still didn't ease my mind on what was awaiting me.

Master Val escorted me to the second floor of the store, the accessories section.

The place was packed with products and things I never knew a pet might need or worse, a master might decide to use on their pet.

As a purchased pet, I was granted access to that section.

Some vampires like to pick out things themselves, while others simply don't care.

I couldn't care less either. Whether I had a diamond studded collar or not, both defined me as a pet.

My stomach started turning when I glanced over my shoulder and saw a stand for torturing devices.

I took in a deep breath and thanked all the spiritual beings I know of that my new master didn't request for any.

"Ruby we don't have all day, pick your collar and let's go. Trust me you don't want to be late for this Master" Master Val's impatience was worrying me.

"I'll take the simple black leather collar"

Picking my own collar felt too weird and scary. I hope this Lorcan master is as nice as master Val.

Master Val had to literally drag me out of the store, as the fear was starting to eat me up and my legs were going numb.

After getting me adjusted in the car with my brand new collar around my neck, master Val started talking.

"Listen Ruby, you've been in my store for seven year and the outer world will not be as nice and umm safe. You can't zone out with your new master ok. He is the 5th rank true blood, pretty strong I would say, so don't think twice of escaping."

As if escaping was on my mind. All I could think of was how not to die.

"Ok"

"Do you have any questions Ruby? Don't be shy, this is your only time to get any answers"

I didn't know what to ask. Also, what would a horrible answer help me with anyway. It would just make me even more afraid and nervous.

I have nothing to lose. My family gets drained for blood bags once a month the moment they turn 16. My time to be drained has been in the waiting for too long.

"No I don't have any questions" I replied quietly.

"Here we are then" said master Val as he unbuckled his seat belt and called me out of the car.

When I opened the door and took my first steps out, I was taken back by how beautiful the place looked even though it was dark.

There was a large lush garden dimly lit by spotlights going round a beautiful large fountain.

In the middle of the garden was the large villa that didn't look very welcoming at least at this time of the day.

Master Val grabbed me by the leash that he just attached to my collar and walked to the front door.

I followed his steps quickly before tripping.

My heart started racing and my legs were going numb again as the steps of an approaching person were becoming louder and closer to the door.
