28: Tasty

Juuzou: Do you want me to drop him back off at your place?

"Ugh." You groaned as you looked down at your phone. "I forgot that I'd have to see him in literally like a few hours. No one trusts him to watch the baby more than that, and his adult baby sitter is busy with his own life."

"Why would you ever reproduce with someone like that, YN? That sounds wholly unappealing. At least Uta's a grown-ass man." Itori poked the ghoul, who was still sour from her intrusion.

"But I can't make my own reproductive decisions?" He huffed as you texted Juuzou back.

YN: Mhm.

"You don't even know how this would work out. Pretty sure no one knows how ghoul reproduction really works. We kind of understand ghoul mother/human father and human mother/ghoul father works." Itori stated. "But half ghoul stuff is lost."

"Really?" You asked. "How?"

"You're literally a half ghoul and you don't know?"

"Well I only have one parent and they're kind of... confusing... From what I've seen I think they have guy parts but they're my mom so it's just different..." You closed one eye. "Anyway, can you just explain it?"

"Uh..." Itori shared a look with Uta who just shook his head and shrugged. "Well a female ghoul and a male human usually results in the mother's body just absorbing the fetus, I'd think. It's part human so I don't see why it wouldn't. On the flip side, a ghoul father and human mother, the baby would starve unless the mother was intaking an almost entirely human diet. That's why I assume your pregnancy went well; you didn't reject the baby because you were human and ghoul and you were already eating only human."

You nodded, taking it all in.

"So do Yukizou and I smell really tasty?" You asked.

"Oh gorgeous, I have to hold myself back from taking a bite at all times." Uta laughed as he snapped at you.

"Itori, save me!" You laughed back as you hid in her lap, but instead of a comforting hug, you were greeted with her slim wet tongue running up your neck, causing you to screech and make you shiver. "You suck!!"

You stood up and ran away from the two giggling ghouls.

"We wouldn't really eat you, YN! But you are probably really delicious. And I certainly wouldn't turn down a bite." Uta reclined on your living room floor as your doorbell rung. Juuzou didn't live far from you, so it wasn't unreasonable that he had arrived quickly.

"I'll get it. You two stay quiet back there." You waved at them as you answered the door. "Thanks."

You reached out to take your son and his bag back.

"I'm sorry, again. I was inappropriate. I won't do it again. Can I come back next week?" He was practically begging you as he stood on your doorstep pathetically.

"Of course. He's still your baby. Did he eat?" You asked politely as you glanced behind you.

"Yes." Juuzou visibly relaxed. "Do you... have guests over?" He looked past you as well.

"None of your business. Go away." And with that, you stepped back and you shut the door.
