As you opened the door to Itori's bar, you put a pained look on your face. The entire bar was lit by candles and there was a single table for two sitting in the middle of the room.
"My, my, it seems you actually decided to show up." Uta appeared in front of you, with a bouquet of no less than a dozen roses and with a matching headband of roses.
"Of course." You gave a highly put-off look, and you heard Itori laughing from the bar.
"Don't look like he's trying to eat you, YN. My goodness, you look like someone is cutting your fingers off over and over." Itori laughed as she spoke from across the room. "And after poor Uta went through all this trouble to try and get a smile from you. At least stop with the ugly looks."
Uta kept a soft smile and shook the bouquet in front of you. Begrudgingly, you took the bouquet and offered your hand to the sweet-acting man. After you sniffed it and gave a satisfied exhale, you looked at him. His black eyes met your own and he laid a light kiss on your hand. He then lead you over to the table and pulled out the chair for you. You took a seat and waited for Uta to take his seat.
"Oh look, a conveniently placed vase with water in it. Feel free to place your roses in it." His warm voice rang out.
"Sure." You responded, trying to keep a neutral face.
"The first course is blood wine. Is that okay?" He asked you sweetly as he put his chin on his hands while his elbows rested on the table.
"Yes." You kept your hands in your lap and tried to avoid eye contact in general.
"I wanted to get to know you." He mentioned as Itori walked up and placed two glasses down on the table.
"Stop being mean to Uta, YN." She frowned at you. "Why would you say yes to a date if you weren't going to be nice to a sweetie like him?"
You grumbled and crossed your arms, looking away. Having ensured that she gave you a proper scolding, she returned to the bar, asking some of her employees about how the lunch was coming. You sniffed the warm air, wondering what it would be that you would get to eat. Would it be tender organs? Maybe some ribs? Normally, your food was tainted by the unfortunate taste of adrenaline. Because you were a scavenger, your food often met their ends by some violent of unexpected means. So you had had your fair share of picking out gravel, eating around rotting flesh and honestly, some pretty gross meat.
"So are you going to be nice? Itori has just given away that you can indeed do it." Uta chuckled at you as he took a sip of the fermented blood. Oh, wow. This is very strong. Itori's clearly got an agenda. He thought to himself as you spoke again, revealing how you really felt.
"Nervous."
