56: Future Plans

"YN, it's nearly seven in the morning. I am begging you, can we retire for the night?" Uta rested his head on your shoulder as you pushed him away, still chatting with Kaneki. "Kaneki, Touka left hours ago. Actually, everyone left hours ago. It's just me waiting on my girlfriend now. Can I have her back?"

Kaneki sighed and you stepped forward to embrace him in a hug, causing Uta to scowl just a bit.

"Thank you, Kaneki. I have your phone number, so we can get together and talk now. It was so... so... just what I needed to talk to another half ghoul. You'll have to come over... or maybe I'll meet you at Anteiku for dinner or lunch! That would really make me happy, okay?" You beamed at him, stepping back into Uta's open arms.

"Thank you, gorgeous." Uta kissed your head. "We will be seeing you Kaneki, please, enjoy your day."

And with that, he swiftly led you away.

You yawned and held on tightly to Uta's arm. Seven in the morning was really late to stay up to; Juuzou would be just about ready to leave for work at this point, so you knew why Uta was rushing you home now. But what you didn't know, was why you were stopping at a store.

"I thought we needed to get home to the baby?" You asked, covering yet another yawn.

"We do. But this is just as important." Uta noted, pulling you along into the family planning section.

"What, condoms? I thought you wanted a baby?" You asked him, rubbing your eyes."

"Silly woman. Already forgot our conversation." Uta tsked at you as he grabbed two boxes off of the shelf.

"Oh, oh, yeah. Pregnancy tests. Duh." You smacked your head.

Uta chuckled and paid for the tests, quickly pulled you out of the store and headed home.

"What are those? Here's the baby." Juuzou handed Yukizou to you quickly as he eyed the boxes in Uta's hands and headed towards the door.

"Pregnancy tests." Uta responded quickly.

Juuzou pulled open the door and leaned backwards.

"She's not pregnant. Bye!!" He yelled out as he closed the door behind him.

"What does he know?" Uta scowled. "Give me Squishy and go pee on the stick."

He held his arms out and you laughed, handing the wiggly baby over to him. 

"I really don't think I am, Uta. Take him for some tummy time, please. I think he's going to start crawling soon. Call me if he does!" You grabbed a box and disappeared.

"What does she know, Yu-Yu?" Uta kissed Yukizou's forehead and hugged him close. "I just want another baby like you! That's how much I love you."

Yukizou babbled in Uta's arms as his little legs and arms bounced around in joy. He loved Uta just like his parents. Especially because of all the hugs and kisses.

Meanwhile, in the bathroom, you were now waiting for the dreaded few minutes that needed to proceed before you knew exactly what your life would become.

You felt your heart beat a little faster. Things had changed so much since you had first met Uta.

A new boyfriend, a reconciliation with an old one. A new set of friends, including a half-ghoul. A possible new baby, and your other one growing bigger every day. It all made you smile. And so with that, you looked down.

AN: Ah yes, I love ending Book 2 of series on cliff hangers.

You read that right. Ending. The End.
