Freedom! Sweet release! Those were the first words you thought as you pedaled beside your friends, The Losers Club, after being grounded for like a month. You were ecstatic to finally be able to run around with the group again, even laughing at Richie's stupid shitty pickup lines and jokes. You weren't even annoyed by Bill and Stan being such worry warts. You were just... Happy. You had missed your friends. And luckily, they missed you too. It was pretty clear when Eddie gave you a hug, a quick one, but a hug nonetheless upon seeing you. Even more so when Beverly hugged you for nearly five minutes and everyone else piled on. You were so happy to have such wonderful friends that you didn't even care when the local assholes- I mean bullies- picked on you. You just smiled your big old smile and walked away, much to their confusion. Soon, you became the talk of the school. You were untouchable, almost glowing. And everybody noticed, especially Beverly and the others. Not saying you were usually a grouchy asshole, but you were usually a grouchy asshole. And by grouchy asshole I mean the voice of reason since apparently everyone in the Losers Club has a death wish, with them jumping off cliffs and picking fights with the Bowers Gang. Anyways, you suddenly became a ray of sunshine, and to be a hundred percent honest everyone loved it. Bill loved it because you wouldn't get annoyed with him constantly worrying, same with Stan. Richie loved it because somebody was finally laughing at his stupid ass jokes. Eddie loved it because it made Richie tell someone else his stupid jokes. And Beverly and Ben loved it because they just liked you being happy. And you loved it because it just felt good to be happy. As the days went on, your happiness didn't evaporate, much to the surprise of your friends. You felt as if nothing could go wrong, nothing could hurt you. But sadly, you were wrong. On your way biking home from hanging out with the Losers, you saw the first of many missing child posters that would begin littering the town. You didn't recognize the kid on the poster, luckily. But you couldn't help but feel terrible, even though you had nothing to do with their disappearance. Of course, like any sane person you hoped their family would find them soon, alive and not just a rotted corpse. Little did you know, the body was never found by the family. But it was definitely found.
