Sunlight streamed into the open window onto his face. His teal and blonde curls falling over his head and into his eyes as he slept. Andromeda watched from his doorway, taking in the sight of her sleeping grandson and admiring how very much he looked like his father. Edward Theodore Lupin was extremely lanky for 11. Knobby kneed and long armed, exactly as Remus had been. He slept, however, exactly like his mother. Legs hanging off the bed at odd angles, blankets wrapped around his chest and stomach.

"Teddy, dear" Andromeda said as she shook his foot, trying to wake him. He mumbled something incoherent and pulled his knees up to his blanket-wrapped chest. She sighed. So much for doing this the easy way. She pulled her wand from the folds of her robes and pointed it towards the sleeping boys bed. Without a word, a stream of water flowed from the tip and drenched the boy's head. With a yelp, he flailed his arms and legs and rolled right off the bed onto the floor with a thump.

"Seriously?! You had to go about it that way?" He huffed as he sat up on the floor and rubbed his wet hair. His sea green eyes glaring at his grandmother. "What do I need to up so bloody early for anyway?"

"Harry will be here shortly to take you for your books and such, remember?" She replied cooly as she studied the handle of her wand, carefully hiding her smirk of amusement at the boys reaction to his less-than-gentle awakening. Teddy's eyes got huge with realization and he jumped up from the floor and hurriedly got dressed for his trip with his godfather. Harry was taking him to Diagon Alley to get his schoolbooks and supplies for his first year at Hogwarts. He had waited ages to finally be going and he couldn't be more excited. As he pulled on his trainers, the doorbell rang and Andromeda walked down to answer it. Teddy looked at himself in the mirror, teal and blonde hair still hanging in his eyes, as it usually did. His blue-green eyes bright in his thin face. He smiled and ran down the stairs. There, at the bottom of the stairs, was his godfather, Harry Potter.

"Alright Teddy?" Harry said with a smile.

"More than alright! I'm so excited to be going to Hogwarts this year!" Teddy said as he practically vibrated with excitement. Harry laughed as he held out his hand to the boy to apparate them to Diagon Alley. Teddy grabbed on and felt the familiar squeeze of his whole body as the left with a crack.

Tons of people bustled around the alley from shop to shop when they appeared in front of Gringotts. Teddy followed Harry into the bank and up to one of the goblin tellers. He stood slightly behind him, peeking around him to see the goblins. He could never get used to seeing them up close. The goblin looked down his long hooked nose while he spoke with Harry. Harry passed the goblin a key on a black wolf key ring. He then beckoned Teddy to follow him as the goblin led them to his vault. When Teddy's parents had died during the Battle of Hogwarts, he had been left in the care of his grandmother. However, his god father was the one trusted to look after his finances as money was not necessarily safe under the name Black. So, here they were, traveling along in the little cart towards his vault. When they arrived, Harry stepped out and followed the goblin. He told Teddy to just stay in the cart. They returned a few minutes later, Harry putting a small velvet bag in his pocket as they did.

Back outside, Teddy pulled out his school list to see where they should go first. The decided that Flourish and Blotts for his books was a good place to start. They entered the crowded store and were greeted by a young witch with a dark blue apron.
