Monday morning rolled around to start another week of school. Teddy was surprised when he sat up from his pillow and noticed Matt sitting in his bed reading.
"How long have you been up?" Matt glanced at him from the top of the book in his hand.
"A while. Didn't feel like going to breakfast alone, and figured you'd need help with that one," Matt inclined his head towards the snoring lump at the end of Zach's bed. Teddy rolled his eyes and climbed out of bed to get dressed. He pulled on his pants and socks, then shoved his feet into his shoes. He walked over and stood in front of the mirror next to the dresser on the far side of the room, studying himself. Matt laid his book in his lap and watched his friend at the mirror curiously. He watched Teddy cock his head to the side, as if he was debating on something. Teddy nodded to himself and jerked his head to the side. As he did this, his blonde-to-teal hair splashed to black with yellow tips. Matt yelped, causing Teddy to turn around and look at him.
"Mate, I swear no matter how many times you do that, it's still going to freak me out." Teddy grinned, walking over and picking up his white shirt from the top of his trunk. "You letting it like that then?"
"Figured it was time for a change." Teddy smirked at Matt, who just shook his head.
"We've been here a week, and you're already bored? Merlin, Ted, what would you do if you couldn't do that as easily as you can?" Matt gestured towards Teddy's head. Teddy peaked up at the fringe of his bangs and shrugged.
"Guess my life would be a tad more boring then, eh?" Matt rolled his eyes. "So what are we doing to get this one up?" He jerked a thumb at Zach.
"You could always just roll him onto the floor again." Matt stood from his bed and started gathering his book from the desk he used. Teddy grinned and started towards Zach's bed.
"I'm awake you git don't you dare roll me off this bed." Zach popped his head out from under the pillow and rubbed his eye. When he finally focused on Teddy, he raised an eyebrow at him.
"Trying out a new look, Ted?" Teddy shrugged at him and turned to start gathering his own books and such. Zach rolled out of bed and got dressed.
"You taking Moony today, Ted? Professor did say she was welcome in his class." Matt picked up his bookbag from the end of his bed. Teddy walked over to Moony's dorm and found her sitting inside the door, patiently waiting for him to pick her up. He scooped her up and lifted her onto his shoulder, where she proceeded to sit up and stick her nose in Teddy's hair. He giggled.
"It's still me, girl. Its just a different color." Moony nosed his hair a minute longer then, satisfied, curled into his neck. The three boys left the dorms and exited the common room, navigating the corridors towards the Great Hall. As they entered, they could see Claire, Tonya and Tyson sitting towards the end of the table. The three boys wandered their way towards them and sat down.
"Morning boys," Claire said sweetly as she reached up to rub Moony's head. "And your highness." Moony purred at her in response. Teddy lifted her from his shoulder her down between himself and Claire at the table. He pulled a small bowl of fruit over and set it in front of her. "I like your hair, Teddy."
"She going with you this morning?" Tyson asked as he spooned some more eggs onto his plate. Teddy nodded.
"We have a free period right after Defense, and Harry already said she's welcome in his class." Tyson nodded and returned to his breakfast.
The first years finished their breakfast and waved to their prefects as they headed for the Defense wing. As they trudged up the stairs, Moony purred from her position on Claire's shoulder, where she had perched herself when everyone started to get ready to leave.
