Nova Rose

Chpt. 7

Nova P.O.V.

I see the man go to his car to get something I quickly go up to my mom. "Momma who is that man." "Oh, Nova you scared me." my mom holds her hand over her heart. "Sweetie get inside before that man gets back please." "Okay momma." "I'll be in, in a little bit." I nod at my mom and turn to go inside. "Is that her?" I hear a male voice say. I keep walking because I don't want to make my mom mad. "Let me see her, bring her here." "No, I told you before I want no child of mine to know you." "Nova come here." That man calls me but I ignore him, I'm almost to the door. "Nova come when your father calls you." The man yells and I freeze. That man is my father, the man that broke my moms heart and gave me a fatherless life. "Nova go inside please." I hear my mother's broken pleading cry for me to go inside. I've only heard about my father and from what my mom told me about him makes me pissed now that I know who he is.

"No, Nova don't listen to your mother come to your father." I turn around and see the victory in his eyes while he looks at my mom. Until he looks towards me then his smile falls. "What daddy are you disappointed in me." I spit at him. "Nova please go inside and calm down!" My mother yells at me but I'm too mad to listen. "What is that?" My father says with disgust clear in his voice. My father advances towards me with pure rage in his eyes. "Is she even part wolf Angel, is she!!!" He yells at my mom, I start to calm down and realize that I'm in deep shit. "Nova run now!" My mother yells I look between her and that man. He stops, takes his coat off and rips through his clothes into a huge wolf. I scream and run down the street with him right on my tail. Tear start to run down my cheeks, my eyes are probably turning every color because they're still developing and they can't determine what feeling I'm feeling right now.

My legs are starting to burn but I keep pushing myself. I see the local park that we have in this neighborhood and it has a forest behind it. Maybe I can lose him in there. I make a sharp turn and hear him stop to turn and follow me. I run straight into the forest not looking behind me knowing he's close. Not even thirty seconds later I hear paws pounding the forest ground behind me. The forest isn't that big and I make it out of the forest a couple minutes later. My throat burns from my ragged breathing, I can't feel my legs and they're going to give out any minute now. I can see the school from here because this is a small town and I'm determined to make it there. I see Shane and his friends messing around, cause he likes to stay after school before his mom and dad gets home from work. I lock eyes with Shane for a second before he sees my dad chasing me. I wasn't paying attention and I fall in a hole in the ground.

I hear a nasty snap and all I feel is pain from my ankle up. I scream in pain and I hear my dad approaching, I pull my foot out of the hole. I start to run on it so I can get away from him. Tears are streaming down my cheeks I'm still screaming but I can't hear anything. The only thing I'm focused on is trying not to die by my father's hand. I'm almost to the front doors of the school when both my legs give out from pain and exhaustion. "No, no no no no no" I start to scream as I turn and see my father approaching. I try to get up but my legs won't move. "Help someone please, mom help please!!!!!!" I keep screaming for help and my mom but no one comes. Until another wolf intercepts my father and knocks him to his side. The other wolf runs up to me and I cower away until I see Uncle Jacks kind eyes he looks down at my ankle and bows so I can get on his back. I crawl over to him and get on his back.

Shane P.O.V.
I just stood there, I did nothing. I'm such a coward, I stood there and almost watched my precious Nova die, I watched her break her ankle, struggle and I did nothing. I see my father save Nova and bring her home to her mom while whoever that other wolf is, is knocked out. "Guys I have to go I'll see you tomorrow." I mumble to my friends I start to run home. I need to know if she's okay, I need to know if she's mad at me. I couldn't bare for her to be mad at me. She's one year younger than me so it's my duty to protect her. Ha I said duty. (😂😂 A/N~ sorry I just had to.)

Jack P.O.V.

I get a call from Angel. "Oh my god! Jack you need to come help! Please." She sounds frantic and like she's crying. "Angel tell me what's wrong? Did something-" I was cut off by her frantic screaming and the sound of ripping clothes. "David stop! She's just a little girl!!! Jack come quick please." I hang up the phone and rush out of my work building. I mind linked my boss and told him that it was an emergency. I didn't bother going to my car I just transformed. My mind was running with thoughts I knew exactly where Nova was thinking of going to the school where Shane hangs out with his friends till I come home from work. I passed right by Angel and rushed towards the school. I hear a snap then screaming, I see Nova get out of a hole and run from her father, she falls and starts scream/repeating no over and over again. I push myself even faster and ram into David's side intercepting him before he can get to Nova.   

Nova P.O.V. 

While I was riding on Uncle Jack's back I passed out from the pain. Next thing I know I'm waking up in a hospital bed with my mother passed out in a chair next to my bed. I don't have a cast on my leg though. Weird. I get out of the bed and head to the bathroom because I have to pee really bad. When I get out of the bathroom I see my mom looking around the room frantically searching for me. Once she found me she rushed to my side. "Momma why don't I have a cast on my leg??" I asked in a muffled leg because I was pressed against my moms chest. "Because sweetie I healed you with a power that only my bloodline has, but keep it a secret okay??" "Okay mommy." I got out of the hospital a day later and when I got back to Uncle Jack's house Shane was really careful around me like I would break or something.

~A couple months later~

It's August 26th and I have a bad feeling about day it just feels off. I brush the feeling off and go to school none the less. My mom said she would pick me up today and I'm excited because she doesn't usually pick me up after school. The last bell of the day rings and I rush to my locker to get my stuff. After I get my stuff I rush out the door. I see my mom in the crowd we make eye contact and she begins to wave at me, "Mo-" I get cut off by a gun shot and see my mom go down. "Mom!" I scream and look at where the shot came from. Everyone's running inside while I'm running towards my mom. I finally make it to her and I fall to my knees, she's bleeding from her stomach a lot. I put my hands over the wound hoping to slow down the bleeding. "Nova," her voice sounds so weak and broken. "Yes mom?" I say in a small voice. "I'm sorry." She takes a broken breath and speaks again.

"Go now before you get shot too baby, run please." My mom pleads but I refuse and shake my head no. "I'm not leaving you mom you're all I have." I state then a thought runs through my head I can heal her. I concentrate on healing her. It starts to work but I'm getting weaker by the second. "Nova, stop right now." My moms says very serious, " you're going to kill yourself if you go on any longer." I stop but she's slightly healed then she leans her face close to mine. "Baby I love you, you're my whole world." She opens her mouth and this light stuff flows from her mouth to my mouth and I regain my strength while my mom falls back and dies in my arms. My whole world stops, I try healing her again but nothing happens I curse under my breathe. I try even harder then I start freaking out. The cops are here and I can feel the hot tears start to roll down my cheeks. I can't believe this she can't be dead no this is all a dream.

I try to shake my mom to wake up but she's not. I look at my hands and see her blood on them. I start freaking out and hyperventilating, "No, no, no, no." I seem to say that word a lot. I look up and see a man standing at where the point my mom possibly got shot from my eyes turn red and I stand up ready to kill someone but I look back down at my moms and my mood changes. Oh god no I think, she's going to wake up any minute now and and say it was a prank this whole time right? I didn't realize I was screaming until Shane comes up behind me hugging me and telling me to calm down. I stayed in my room for a full week without eating drinking the only thing I did was cry myself to sleep everyday. Everyday waking up without my mom was like waking up without oxygen I couldn't breathe at all I slowly suffocated till I died again and again. I didn't know what to think a week later when my dad came to pick me up.
