ELEVEN ૐ THE BABY DADDY AND THE BOYS

THE POOL HOUSE AT BRYCE'S HOUSE remains preoccupied until midnight as the rest of the boys piled in. Montgomery had called for a small gathering at the last minute, barging into Bryce's house with a worried and defeated expression which sent Bryce a clue that something happened that could possible be about Olivia.

Zach Dempsey, Scott Reed, Jeff Atkins, and Dawson de la Cruz sits at the couch, looking expectantly at Montgomery who's been pacing back and forth for as long as they could rememeber. Scott and Jeff frowns and looks at Bryce questioningly, to which Bryce replied with a shake of his head and mouthing: 'Olivia.'

"So, are you gonna tell us what's happening or not? I had to leave my date early because of this shit so if you're gonna waste my time, lil brother, then i should get going." Dawsom speaks up, making a move to stand.

Montgomery stops pacing and downs his beer before exhaling sharply, he gives everyone a troubled look. "Apparently, i'm a baby daddy now."

"Wait, what?" Scott blurts out at the same time Zach starts choking on his bear, coughing severely as he doubled over and tries to compose himself.

Zach whispers at Jeff, "What's a baby daddy?"

"Baby Daddy is being a biological father of a child from a woman he's not married to." Jeff whispers back.

"Oh, so kind of like, Teen Dad?" Zach suggests and Jeff snickers, nodding.

Dawson sits back down with a confused expression, "What the fuck are you talking about?"

Montgomery sighs and went back to pacing again, pushing his arms up in the air in frustration. "What I'm talking about is that I got Olivia pregnant and I just found out earlier today when I bumped into her at Crestmont. She didn't tell me because of the fuck up I made with Tina Clayton. God, I shouldn't have took her offer with her weeds that day."

"Seriously?! Why didn't I know about this?" Jeff pipes in, obviously disheartened that Olivia didn't tell him.

"Only Alex and Justin knew, i suppose." Monty concludes. "Have you guys seen Justin's snap these past few days?"

"Yeah, dude, but it never occurred to us that it was hers." Zach responds, face beet red with all the coughing he had. "Justin must've been so angry at you when he found out."

"Yeah, he texted me a long ass paragraph cussing me out." Montgomery spat.

"What did she say, dude? Is that the reason why she left town?" Bryce asks.

"Her dad sent her off to LA, she continued her road to graduation at a different school while carrying my baby and gave birth a month after." he explains further, staring off into space.

"Man," Bryce muses. "That's— That's awful and shitload of stuff to take in. She went through all of that alone."

Bryce's statement hits jackpot and Montgomery looks down, sadly. He can't even imagine her going through it alone with no one to help her through. He knew Olivia had big dreams, she had a lot if plans for her future and carrying Grayson while she's at school must've messed up with her school records.

Jeff rambles enthusiastically, planting his chin on his palm in interest. "So how was she? How about the baby? Tell us about him. What was his name? God, this is so exciting."

Scott butts in unsurely, "Uhm? Err.. what's there to be excited about? Monty doesn't even know how to handle himself and his anger issues, how would you think he would handle a kid?"

Zach agrees, "Good point." At the same time Dawson laughs, "True that!" And Bryce guffaws, patting Monty's back as he tries to keep him from lunging at Scott.

"Fuck you, Reed. And what do you know about handling a kid? Do you have a history that we don't know about?" Montgomery retorts.

"I have 3 younger brothers, remember?" He shrugs and Jeff hollers, "We're drifting off the topic! Tell us what the baby's like! What's his name?"

"Grayson de la Cruz." Montgomery states proudly, "He's got her eyes. We both have the same nose and smile, also stubborn and easily agitated like i am. He's turning 1 this month, i think, I just can't remember the exact date."

Dawson scoffs and shakes his head, "I know Olivia's gonna be a great mother, she won't raise him up to have an attitude and anger issues like yours. There's nothing to be proud of with that, dipshit."

Bryce inquires, looking down at his friend in all seriousness. "So, what's your plan? Gonna run off just like that or take up with the responsibility?"

"Of course I would take up FULL responsibility. He's my boy, as much as an asshole i am, i'm not that cruel and heartless to let her take everything alone. She's already done that before. I won't let her raise him up without my support. It's partially my fault for not using protection, i thought she was on birth control pills!" He proclaims but sighs, facepalming. "I just don't know what to do to get her back, you know? I mean.. yes, i admit, I still love her. Fuck you all. I still love her even after how much time passed by, i still do. She was the first girl I settled down with and the first girl I took seriously.  She hates me for what I did, and I don't blame her for it though, i deserve it! I was the one who cheated on her with her bestfriend. I'm such an asshole."

"We'll help you figure this shit out." Bryce assures, smiling at him. "We're brothers, we're in this with you together. Sounds good?"

Montgomery smiles at Bryce, relieved to hear that from him. He looks at the boys for support and Jeff smiles at him, nodding in response. Zach sighs and nods while Dawson flips him off, telling him that they're blood brothers so he doesn't really have a choice. Scott shrugs and mumbles, "I've been too deep in this shit, there's no way I could back out now."

Zach's phone rings and when he realized who the caller was, she shot up from his seat and gathered his stuff. "I have to go. Gotta visit Hannah."

"Why'd you cheat on her anyway?" Scott asks out of nowhere.

Montgomery remains silent, and Dawson cuts in.

"Well, that's my brother for you. He's not Montgomery de la Cruz if he's not an idiot. He cheated on a girl he don't wanna lose for someone he don't wanna keep."

i've read all of your opinions and i'm really glad you guys loved this book as much as i do! seeing you guys' overwhelming response made me decide to continue writing the book since i have my own version of montgomery's character. to avoid violent reaction for other people, i just wanna clear things up that i DO NOT and WILL NOT romanticize and praise montgomery's character at the show for what he did to tyler. this book is an au[alternate universe] if you haven't noticed yet. this is my book and i do it my way.

sooo... what di you guys think about scott reed? i've decided to include him because he lookin' fine as fuck. i hoped they gave brandon butler had more screentime at s2 tho :(
