a week later.

kenzie is doing okay with the break up. she's now back to her normal, single self but not necessarily happy. but she's alright. although, whenever johnny was brought up it hurt her inside. she's formed a friendship and slight flirtations with brandon rowland, and he's been an impact with moving on.

johnny saw mark's text and now they're good friends again. he's been told many times that "there's more ice cream flavors out there" than the usual "there's more fish in the sea" which was true and he started to believe that, but never got on it because he was still guilty of how heartbroken he made kenzie— but also because it's always been her. it's always been kenzie. no one has ever made him feel that way except her.

mackenzie stepped into the household, then heading upstairs into johnny's room. she knocked on the door as johnny immediately opened it.

"h-hey." he said nervously, opening the door wider for her to come in.

"hi john," her voice spoke as she gave a small smile, walking into his bedroom as they sit down on his bed in not a very comfortable silence.

"you wanna go to the roof? it's way colder there than here." johnny asked.

"um yeah, sure." she answered.

they stepped out of his window and went to the top of the house as the moon was rising and the stars were shining.

"so.. what did you wanna talk about?" he asked awkwardly.
