Chapter 4: Eyes for who?

"I've never be good enough for you." - Archie Andrews.

Betty's POV
Look I'm not going to lie. These last few days have been hard. I've been distanced from Archie. The only time I see him is when we have awkward meetings at our windows, when we brush past each other in the hallways and classes. People could say I'm over reacting. I could be but he had no right to lead me on just to throw me away when Veronica came back to him. "Hey Bettys, where's your lover boy?" Jughead asks.
"Go ask Veronica." I state.
"Betty, I didn't know I'm sorry." He claims.
"Honestly Jug, I don't even care." I lie.
"Betty, I know you well enough to know you're hurt." He claims. I see Archie and Veronica taking, flirting and laughing neat Archie's locker. I couldn't watch anymore so I decided to walk outside. I see Kevin at a table and decided to go sit down, Jughead following behind. "What's wrong Betty?" Kevin asks.
"Nothing." I reply back.
"The friendship of Barchie had a fall out." Jughead makes clear.
"Jug!" I reply.
"Honestly Betty, Archie and you have been friends for the longest time there's nothing that can break you two." Jughead states.
"Thanks Jug." I say reaching for his hand. He reaches back.

Archie's POV
I'm walking home from school, Betty's just a few steps in front of me. I want to talk to her but would she even want to talk to me? Then I see her fall to the ground. I run over and help her up. "Hey are you ok?" I ask.
"Yeah I must have tripped over a rock or something." She replies.
"I haven't seen you much often." I state.
"Yeah I've been busy." She replies. The walk is pretty awkward. "Look I'm sorry..." he both say at the same time.
"I shouldn't have lead you on like that." I state.
"And I should have gotten mad." She replies as well. "I just miss my bestfriend." She claims.
"I miss you too." I reply back. He hug, it's friendly just like they used to. As we continue to walk just like we normally do I couldn't help but stare at how beautiful Betty's smile was. My feelings were all caught up in a giant knot.

Betty's POV
I'm glad Archie and I are friends again, bestfriends. My life would be totally different without him. He's always been there and I've always been there for him. That's why are friendships so beautiful, we take care of each other.

Archie's POV
"Hey Ronnie." I say as I sit down with Veronica at Pop's
"Hey Archiekins!" She replies. We order two burgers and two milkshakes. We talk about our days. "I saw you walked home with Betty?" Veronica states.
"Yeah and?" I reply.
"I thought you said nothing was happening between you two?" She states
"Ronnie, Betty and I are next door neighbor, we're bestfriend, we've known each other since forever. Of course we'd walk home together." I state.
"Ghee Archiekins, calm down." She claims.
"I need to go to rest room." I state before leaving to the bathroom. I couldn't believe Veronica invited me here just to question me. I wash my face with cold water then look in the mirror. Who have I become I wonder to myself. Why did I do that to Betty. I walk out of the restroom to see the real reason Veronica invited me here. She sitting in our both kissing some go. "Andrews, hey!" Reggie says.
"You're with Reggie?" I ask.
"See Archie, now you know how I felt when I saw you with Betty." She states. "I got my revenge. Now you and me can be together again." She states.
"I never want to be with you again, Veronica." I say before storming off. That's when I realised, I didn't have eyes for Veronica, I liked Betty.

B: sure.
When I arrive home I grab my notepad and write a message to Betty then throw it into her room. I explain all the happened at Pop's. Then she climbs through my window. "That a surprise." I laugh before she gives me a hug.
"That must of sucked Arch." She says.
"It did, but I probably deserved it." I claim.
"No Archie, you didn't." She states. He glance into each other's eyes. The moment it's sweet, kind and beautiful. Then her phones rings. "It was my mum." She says. "Archie , the black hood. He sent a message to the register."
"I thought we caught him. What's going on?" I ask.
"He sent a message saying Joseph died the same why he committed his sin. He's coming after every who's escaped him before. He wrote a list Arch." She says before she breaks down in tears.
"What, what list Betty?" I say.
"A list of names, your dad, midge, moose, us and more." She replies. I bring her into a hug. "Nothing will happen to ok. I won't let that happen." I reassure her.
"Archie, you're on the list too." I replies.
"Then we're in it together." I state to her. She hugs be back tighter I could feel she was scared.

Betty's POV
I hugged Archie tighter I was scared. The fear got worse when I heard my phone ring. *lollipop lollipop oh lollie lollipop* I put the phone on speaker then answered. "Hello."
"Hi Betty, ready to play another game?" The blackhood answers.
"What do you want?" I answer shaking.
"You failed to catch me, now in return you will play my game." They states.
"I won't, I won't play your game." I state.
"You'll play my game or the person you love will be my next victim and we both know who you really love." The blackhood states before hanging up.
"So we just need to protect Jughead right?" Archie replies. "Because obviously the blackhood thinks you aren't broken up."
"Yeah yeah. You're right." I reply. He was wrong. I know who the blackhood meant. Archie who was I loved, that's who the blackhood meant. I had to play to game to protect Archie not Jughead.
