Chapter 3: hidden Kisses

"Can't I do this one thing for me?" - Betty

Betty's POV
The weekend finally came and I couldn't be happier. I looked out my window just to see Archie, he looked back. I smiled and he smiled back. Then I heard meh phone.
A: Hey Betty.
B: Hello Archie.
A: How's your morning?
B: Great, yours?
A: good.
A: Meet me down stairs in 10?
B: 20 and you have a deal?
A: fine, I'll see you then. x
I got ready then ran down stairs. I met Archie at the front. "So where are we going?" I ask.
"That's a surprise." He claims.
"Um Arch, you might be unaware but we're walking so you kinda need to tell me." I say.
"Oh yeah, we're going to Pop's." He states. I smile and we continue waking.

Archie's POV
Betty's smile is so adorable, I can't help but smile at it. "Betty." I say. She turns around.
"Yes Arch?" She says. I pull her into a kiss, it was full of passion. "That's all." I say. She giggles. We continue waking and talking, then finally we arrive and Pop's. We walk in and sit a booth. We order two chocolate milkshake and one play of fries. Where deep into conversation when Veronica walks in. She doesn't see us and walks to the opposite end of Pop's. That when my phone gets a buzz.
V: meet me at Pop's?
A: I can't I'm busy.
V: doing what?
A: I'm studying with Betty.
V: with Betty?
A: Yeah.
V: whatever.
"Let me guess V?" Betty ask.
"Yeah." I reply.
"Go to her Archie." She states.
"Betty, I'm here with you, I don't want to be here with anyone else." I reassure her grabbing her hand. She nods, and continues eating.

Betty's POV
I was shocked when I saw who joined Veronica at a both. I poke Archie to make him look. It was Jughead. "What are they doing together?" I ask Archie.
"I have no clue." Archie Replies.

Jughead's POV
I join Veronica at a both. "What did you want to talk about?" I ask.
"There's something going on between Betty and Archie." She claims.
"Veronica, I asked them last night, they're just friends." I reply.
"I don't believe it." She states.
"Veronica even if there was, there single people, we dumped them remember." I reminded her.
"Still they shouldn't hide it from us." Veronica claims.
"They aren't exactly hiding anything." I state.
"I bet they aren't even studying right now." She says.
"They aren't, they're at the opposite end of Pop's." I state.
"WHAT?" She says. She gets up and storms over to them

Betty's POV
I see Veronica waking angrily towards us, Jughead following behind. "Incoming." I state to Archie, our hands disconnecting.

Archie's POV
"WHAT IS THIS?" Veronica asks furiously.
"Two best friends having lunch together." I reply.
"Oh just cut it out, I know there's something going on!" She claims.
"Veronica, calm down." Betty states.
"Oh really Betty, calm down, looks who talking now, remember how devastated you were when  Archie didn't like you. Huh? You were made at us. I have a right to be bad." Veronica roars.
"Come on Veronica, not here not now." I say. Veronica looks around at the people staring at us. "Outside all of us now." Veronica demands. We all walk outside awkwardly. "Veronica you're over reacting." I claim.
"This that's going on between you two. Isn't just friendship. You've never hung out this much before." She states.
"Um actually Veronica, they used to always be like this before you came." Jughead buts I'm.
"Oh before I came? You meant when Betty liked Archie? You know what, I think Betty never stopped liking Archie. They whole time she was dating Jughead she never loved him. Now me and Archie are done, she thinks she has a chance with Archie. Well you know what Betty? He chose me over you once, he'll do it again." Veronica says rudely. I see the tears start to form in Betty's eyes.
"Betty is that true?" I hear Jughead peep.
"No Jug it's not." She claims.
"Look me in the eye and say you didn't have feelings for Archie when we were dating." Jughead states.
"I... I ... I can't." Betty cries.
"See Jughead, you were never important to her." Veronica smirks.
"Thats not true." Betty states.
"Oh save it Betty." Jughead says.
"I think it's best if you two leave." I step in.
"Oh Archie the hero, you know what Archie, your hero act is pathetic." Veronica says before leaving.

Betty's POV
Im stunned by what just happened. I thought Veronica and Jughead were my friends. I was going to tell them about me and Archie eventually, but now wasn't the right time. Too much had happened, things needed to calm down first. As a warm tear rolls down my eye all the memories flash through my head. "Betty are you ok?" Archie ask.
"I think it's best if I go home." I state.
"I'll walk you!" He claims.
"No Archie, I want to be alone." I reply before leaving. On the way home I stop by sunnyside trailer park. I continue walking until I turn up at Jugheads trailer. I stand there speechless for a few moments. I walk up to the door and get ready to knock but before I can the door opens. "Betty? What are you doing here?" Jughead asks.
"I need to talk to you." I cry. "I need to make things right." I continue.
"I'm listening." Jughead replies.
"There is something going on between Archie and I. We were going to tell you but we wanted it to be the right time and to be honest we didn't know what has happening between us, we still don't." I state
"Why were you scared to tell me?" He asks.
"Because Jug, even though we aren't together anymore, I still love our friendship and I didn't want to lose it. I just hope I didn't make things worse." I claim.
"Betty, you didn't make anything worse. I miss you as a friend too." He states. He pulls me into a hug except it's different then our old loving hugs because things are different now. 

Archie's POV
I was about to leaving my house to go visit Betty. I open the front door to see Veronica there. "I shouldn't have acted like that I'm sorry." She spits out.
"You did some pretty terrible things Veronica."
I state.
"I know I'll make them right." She claims. "
I was just jealous because I love you Archie." Veronica states.
"I love you too." I say not thinking. That's when I notice Betty.

Betty's POV
Veronica was right. He chose her over me before, he'll do the same again. How could I ever be so stupid to believe I have a chance with Archie?
