"My goal in life is to enjoy what I do, and never to look back and say I wish I would have done that." - Mila Kunis

EARLY UPDATE TODAY. I will still do an update on Tuesday, but this was already written so I thought why not

I wake up to the smell of bacon and the sound of birds chirping. I look beside me and see Katie face down on the pillows. Yawning, I tap her shoulder.

"Huh?", she mumbles. Sleep is heavy in her voice.

"Waky, waky, eggs and bacy!"

"Ew". She's vegan. Slowly she sits up in bed, making a big scene about it. "Ready?"

"Ready for what?" I ask. I don't recall making plans last night, but my head was dizzy from Rusty's words: she might be the one for me. Just when I thought I could choose between him and Bren, he goes off and does this.

"For shopping, obviously!" She beams before walking towards the door.

"Don't open that, my parents can't know you're here."

"But they never minded before?" Her eyebrow shoots up rapidly.

I can't get myself to look in her eyes as I say it, "I'm sort of grounded." I feel like a child, still being grounded at my age.

"Why are you grounded?"

Oh, no reason I just stayed out too late to snuggle with the boy I hate. "It's not important."

She shrugs. "We are still going shopping."

"I have enough clothes!", I complain. "We don't need to go shopping."

"Uh, yes we do! Did you forget about the party tomorrow?"

"Oh no!" I run over to my closet and begin flipping through the clothes. Nothing is screaming sexy. Instantly I regret buying so many sweaters instead of low-cut crop tops.

She stands next to me to search too. Suddenly she starts throwing clothes onto the floor.

"What are you doing?!" I shriek.

"Emma, please. I know you have sentimental values and all, but look at this hideous thing!" She picks up the shirt I wore for third grade school pictures. It is a pretty aqua blue with brown swirls covering the surface. I suppose I do need to get rid of a couple of things...

"How are we going to sneak out?", I ask.

She just shrugs. Then her eyes light up. "We can pretend Cupcake is dead!" Cupcake is the name of her hamster. It's a ridiculous idea but I'm desperate to look good for tonight.

We dress into some comfortable clothes before we begin our little plan. She crawls down the trellis and runs to the front door. A minute later the doorbell rings. When my father opens the door all I can hear are her pretend cries. "Can Emma come with me to see my dying hamster?" I laugh out loud. She's a great actress.

"EMMA!", my dad yells. Panic is clear in his voice. He isn't used to dealing with hormonal teenage girls, that's my mothers job. I smile to myself and run downstairs.

30 minutes later we arrive at the mall. The smell of greasy foods overwhelm and I find myself strolling towards McDonalds.

"Emma Daniels, just what do you think you're doing?", Katie asks. "We aren't eating that garbage, we don't want to be fat for tomorrow night!" One Big Mac, a large fry, and some sweet tea wouldn't hurt anything.
