Doubt

Wes was not having a good day. Not at all.

His usual sunny self had left and in its place was this moody and worried person.

He had been so close to act on his crush on Emily. They had all gotten a bit tipsy the last night of summer games.

Wes did not drink. He was not a drinker. He was pretty sure Emily had been one of the only people who weren't drunk.

And he had acted so stupidly around her, he had been all up in her space when they had been sitting at the campfire. She had been singing some eighties? Or was it nineties song? and he had just looked at her so helplessly and he had been jealous she hadn't been singing the song to him alone But to everyone Which he knew didn't make sense at all.

She at one point was all up in his space too But she had Been Like that with everyone while she was singing so it probably didn't mean anything even though Wes wanted it to mean something.

He had told Mari how he thought Emily was pretty after she had left the room - he's glad Emily hadn't heard it to be honest- because he wouldn't have been able to explain himself and it would have made things worse.

It had been a good two weeks since winter games had ended and everyone were back at the office working.

His feelings were messing with his head. He needed to get away from the office for a few days to clar his head and his thoughts.

He needed to get away from her before he did something dumb.

It was like every where he went she was there.

He would go work out and see her and Shayne at the same gym. He didn't say hi to them or join them and they seemed oblivious to the fact that he was there.

He would go grocery shopping and see something that reminded him of her or see someone that looked like her.

He just couldn't get her out of his head.

He was at the office and he was focusing all his energy on editing the newest video they had filmed a few days ago.

Emily had noticed the change in Wes's behavior.

She lightly poked him and he took his headphones off and looked at her

'Is everything okay?' Emily asked worriedly

'Yeah I just want to finish editing the newest video' Wes said and gave her a fake smile before going back to editing and ignoring her

Her face fell slightly but she nodded and left him alone

He felt like a jerk but he couldn't think straight with her around him all the time which of course wasn't her fault but he wished that their desks weren't next to each other.

He got up and went outside to clear his head.

Emily wanted to go after him but she felt like her presence wasn't wanted right now.

She knew him leaving wasn't directly because of her but he had never talked to her the way he did before Or ignored her Like that. Brushing her off like that had made her worried.

He was clearly having a bad day and he probably just needed some space and time for himself.

She went out at lunch for a walk and walked to the local grocery store and picked up his favorite chocolates and candy and a basket.

Then she picked up lunch for herself and went to the park and ate lunch by herself. She tried not to overthink things and just enjoyed the sunny day for once.
