Closeted Love

If you can’t love who you love

Why bother to love at all?

Oh wait

That’s why we have the assholes of the internet

The middle aged men who are scared of change

The politicians who need marriage for the economy

Spurring lies that you need to get pregnant to be in love

I’ve had to pick up garbage that was less rotten than their lies

You don’t need to procreate to be in love

What you need is something heterosexuals can never have

And that is the confidence you have  in coming out

In that moment you have more balls than a straight man

Who feels privileged to rape a girl just because he can

Now if anything’s immoral I think I just listed it

Yes gay rape can happen but the odds are slim

Let me take a moment to dawn on you some truth

It’s not personal but let me list some facts

You can get married in Vegas while intoxicated

You can have kids for the sole purpose to get welfare

You can buy a woman to pleasure your needs for one night

But you’re dead wrong if you think that this is love

Love is accepting someone for who they are

After hiding secrets like sexuality for years

Still adoring every bit of them

Because secretly you feel the same way

And if you don’t then don’t bother butting in

It has nothing to do with you

No it’s not forcing a decision on your life

What’s a forced decision is dragging a toddler to go to church

And telling them that a man in the sky made the world

Now who’s forcing beliefs?

Because eating shrimp and wearing clothes

With more than one texture is a sin

But owning a slave is considered right

According to the bible anyway

So should your book really determine love?

I thought god made us all perfect in his image

If that was true then same sex love is no sin

But killing people for being different

That’s a sin just look at commandment number five not eight

So spread the love now and let’s stop the hate

I apologize if this offends anyone at all, it's not meant to be offensive. It's my own opinion. I don't really need any extremely religious people to tell me about the bible because I went to Catholic School for ten years of my life, so I'm fully aware of my knowledge of the bible. I hope this didn't offend anyone in the LGBTQ community, I just wanted to show my own support for the cause (call me a hypocrite for saying 'dont bother butting in' in my poem and for sticking my nose in this if you really want to). I think I'll stop with the deep world poems unless someone says otherwise. Thanks for reading, have a nice day, and spread the love!
