Blow out the candles
First year alive and my face is submerged in cake
It was a superbowl party, I swear I still have frosting on my face!
Blow out the candles
Turning seven at a bowling alley sounded fun
Until we got snowed in, then I just wanted it to be done
Blow out the candles
Eight and nine sounded like they'd be fine
Until one kid showed up, as if RSVPing was a crime
Blow out the candles
Sweet sixteen and I feel like a flower that will wilt
Everyone forgot, so I brought in cake to make them eat their guilt
Blow out the candles
After a decade of having birthdays
Finally I have a good one, and I have hope that future ones will be okay
