“GET UP!” Jonah yelled.

My brother slammed his fists on the bedroom door and Riley groaned.

“STOP IT! WE’RE UP!” Riley shouted back.

She tossed the covers off and swung out of bed.

“Why does he always have to bang on the door? He can just knock and walk away, there’s no need to slam his fists into the door.” Riley mumbled.

I sat up right as my face was attacked by a silken fabric.

“Riley!” I cried, laughing a bit.

“Sorry.”

Riley grabbed her dress out of the closet and walked out of the room. I stood up and grabbed my light blue skinny jeans. I quickly changed my clothes and then walked back to the closet to get my shoes. I walked over to the mirror and started brushing my hair right as Riley walked back into the room.

“The Fault in Our Stars, nice choice.” She said.

I smiled and handed her the white tennis shoes that she always wore with that dress.

“Thanks.” Riley said.

She sat down and tied her shoes and then stood up and picked up her bag.

“I’m ready when you are.” She said.

I picked up my bow and positioned it in my hair and then stepped back and looked at myself in the mirror. Riley tossed her bag over her shoulder and picked our phones up off our nightstands. I took my phone and slipped it into my pocket. I grabbed my bag and we headed out the door.

“I like the dress.” Ashton said.

            Riley smirked.

“Thanks.” She said.

My sister glanced at me and I shook my head and rolled my eyes.

“What's your schedule?” Abbie asked, changing the subject.

I handed her the folded up piece of paper from my back and she glanced down the page.

“We have history, English, and math together.” Abbie said.

“Cool! What about Riley?”

“We don’t have any classes together.” I said frowning.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I know that can't be easy.” Abbie said.

“It’s not,” I said. “We’ve always had classes together.”

“Do you have any with me?” A voice asked.

I smiled and turned to face Calum.

“I don’t know, you tell me.” I said.

Calum looked down my schedule and smiled.

“Math, English, history, science, and Spanish,” Calum said. “You’re gonna be sick of me soon.”

            I laughed.

“I don’t know about that,” I said. “I don’t know if I could be.”

            Calum smiled.

“Nice to know.” He said.

“I’m gonna go ahead and get to class,” Ashton said.

Abbie and Calum exchanged confused looks.

“I’m gonna show Riley around too. We have first period together.”

“Oh so that explains it.” Calum said quietly.

“I’ll see you at lunch.” Ashton said.

“Later.” Calum said.

Ashton and Riley walked off and I smiled. Maybe it’s the end of the year, but it’s definitely the start of something better.
