Invincible

Chapter 7: Falling

Percy's POV

Annabeth staggered onto the deck with tears streaming down her face. I didn't know what they had done to her, but it only made me angrier. I fought with fierce intensity, and I didn't even notice that waves were crashing against the boat. Then I started to realize that we were on water. I made more and more waves rock the boat. But, I couldn't wreck the boat, because Annabeth was in no shape to be jumping off a wrecked one.
Her arms were bound behind her back, and it looked like her right arm was disfigured, probably broken. She had a nasty bruise above her left eye. She was struggling to say something, but duct tape on her mouth was holding her back.
"Well if it isn't Annabeth!" Screamed Nero. "I thought of making you my queen Annabeth, but you're too stubborn. So, if Percy here doesn't agree to come fight for me, you're going to have a nice swim!"
I screamed in rage and stabbed, only to be blocked again. Annabeth was crying harder than I had ever seen her. We thought things would finally be settled, we thought we would be okay for once in our lives, and of course, something like this happens.
"Annabeth, hold on! I'll get you in second!" I told her, even though I wasn't sure it was entirely true. I blocked a strike from Nero, but he hit me with such force, I fell down. I was on the ground now and he was standing over me. The guards were wrapping Annabeths ankles together, and they were hovering dangerously close to the edge of the boat.
"I will ask you one more time Perseus Jackson." Nero sneered. "Join me, fight with me, and you can have Annabeth. If choose not to, she might just slip over the side of the boat.
"I WILL NEVER JOIN YOU!" I screamed at him. "NOW LET ANNABETH GO!"
Nero got a sour expression on his face. "You could have fought so well by my side." He said with disappointment. "Guards, drop her!"
"NOOOOOOO!" I screamed.
I got to my feet and tried to run towards Annabeth. The guards pushed her closer and closer to the edge. I turned toward Nero, who was facing his guards, and stabbed him right through the back. But, I was too late. I turned to see Annabeth tumbling over board.
