Percy's POV
"Percy are you ok with me marrying your mother?" Paul asked.
My jaw dropped. "I...uh...I didn't know you wanted to marry her," I stammered.
"Yeah, I've been thinking about it for a while. Percy, I love your mother and I promise you I will never do anything to hurt her."
"I believe you. Why are you asking me?"
"Well you're the man of this house. I need to make sure it's ok with you before I actually do it!"
"Oh, ok, yeah," I laughed and said formally, "Mr. Paul Blofis, I give you my blessing. You may marry Ms. Sally Jackson."
Paul laughed and stood up. He said, also formally, "Why thank you sir. I shall go ask her right now."
"Wonderful!" I said offering him my arm. "Shall we go?"
"Yes sir," we then walked off arm and arm.
Annabeth's POV
My first thought was: Percy don't leave me with your mother who I don't know!!
"Hi Annabeth! As Percy said, I'm Sally Jackson." Mrs. Jackson said.
"It's nice to meet you Mrs. Jackson," I said tentatively.
"Oh please! Call me Sally!" She happily told me. "Would you like a cookie?"
"Sure."
I knew right away that I would always call her Mrs. Jackson. Calling her Sally would just be weird to me. Plus, if my mom heard that I was calling another adult by their first name, she would have my head.
"They're blue, is that ok?" Mrs. Jackson asked.
"Yeah that's fine. Percy told me you two had a thing with blue," I said while I graciously accepted the cookies.
She laughed. "Yep, we do."
I smiled. I really like Mrs. Jackson. Percy was right in saying his mom is really nice.
"So tell me something about yourself Annabeth."
"Well," I started. "I love reading. I just love the feeling I get when I read a book that can take me to a whole new world."
"Oh I know what you mean. I enjoy reading as well."
"Really? What's your favorite book?" I asked.
"Pride and Prejudice, probably."
"Oh that's one of my favorites too! I love Elizabeth's and Mr. Darcy's romance."
"Oh me too! It's so-"
"Well, I am smart by leaving you two alone because it looks like you have a lot in common." Percy said, interrupting our conversation.
We laughed. "Yeah I guess we do," I said.
I found myself blushing under Percy's stare. Don't ask me why, but for some reason he has the ability to make me blush.
Percy walked over towards us. He stopped when he was standing right next to me, and turned around and nodded at Paul. I wonder why.
"What's going on?" I whispered to him.
"You'll see," he said smiling.
"Sally, can I talk to you for a second?" Paul asked.
"Sure. What do you need to talk about?"
Paul looked nervous. I wonder what he could be nervous about.
"Sally, we've been dating for about a year now and I would like to tell you that I love you. There is no possible way I could live without you. Which is why," Paul got down on one knee, "I would like to know if you would do me the honor of marrying me?"
Mrs. Jackson was crying. I even felt a single tear roll down my cheek.
"Oh Paul," she pulled him up, ran over to him, and hugged him.
"Is that a yes?" He asked.
"Yes! A thousand times yes!!" Mrs. Jackson exclaimed. Then the two of them kissed.
"Wahoo!!!" Percy shouted, raising his fist in the air.
Paul, Mrs. Jackson, and I laughed.
