Chapter 11:
Once again I was sitting in the small brightly lite cubed room. My old pal the whip, or the corrector as Alex calls it, was sitting in the corner to my right. Only this time I wasn't tied up. Alex and Nettie just led me into to the room and told me to sit down. "If you try anything, not only will you get leashes but you will also loose the next 3 meals," declared Nettie.
"I'm sorry sweet heart but we need you to know that we can trust you!" Alex's face was a lot softer then Nettie's . He had a kind smile, and his eyes flickered with hope.
Nettie glared at him." What is wrong with you??" She spat, "how come you became so soft ev..."
"Nettie we can talk about that later," he cut her off," for now we must get finished teaching her the 2nd lesson." When he was looking at her his face was was firm, full of leadership, but as he looked over at me his face almost melted. The kindness, and hope returning to his eyes.
"Now today's lesson is part one of respects!" He announced. His grin grew bigger as he said it. Right then I busted out laughing. His smile faded.
"Respect?!" I squealed, "For who?? For you guys?? For a boss I don't even know?!" Ok so maybe I was over exaggerating. Maybe I should just live with it, give in for now and save my battles...
"Are you gonna already start disrespecting us when this is what the lesson is about?!" Nettie looked like she was gonna explode! Her eyes wide open and full of anger.
"Nettie calm down she can lear..." Alex tried to calm her down.
"No Alex! We give her food, water a bed," Nettie cut him off.
"Not the best bed," Alex muttered looking at Nettie," I am still in charge don't forget that Nettie. And if you want her to respect us then lead by example and respect me!" He demanded.
"Yes sir," Nettie mumbled under her breath shocked that Alex yelled at her. Alex just nodded at her then turned his attention back to me. This time his face was more serious.
"There is one easy rule you must know while your here," he explained," never look at the boss directly unless told to"
