Chapter 33:
Ambers POV
The next few weeks passed by in no time. Everything was just a blur. I don't even remember half the things that happened. We continued to plan, making sure everyone had it down to the point they could do it in their sleep.
But tomorrow is the big day, and to be honest I'm as scared as hell. I looked over at Alex, who was lying down in the hospital bed next to me. We told the boss that Alex came down with a horrible case of the flu and I'm being forced to watch him. None of it was true, but it gave us one more night here together. Plus Alex said it would be better because of the nightmares. The closer it gets to the day, the worse they become.
The nightmares always end the same, with the boss killing Alex. I wake up screaming and Nettie runs to my room to calm me down. Alex is always apologizing that he can't be there when they happen. He hates the fact that he can't be there to calm me down, hold me in his arms until I fall asleep. I'm just glad I have him here with me tonight.

"Amber," Alex whispers into my ear, gently shaking me awake. I open my eyes to see his beautiful brown eyes. His hand smooths my hair away from my forehead, where he places a gentle kiss. "Are you ready?" He asks with a cute smirk.
"Do I have a choice?" I asks chuckling. He just laughs with me. Man I love that laugh. I don't ever want to loose him, then it hits me. Today I could.
"Come on, it's time to get ready," he grabs my hand and helps me out of bed. He handed me my outfit for the day. It consist of black skinny jeans, a black v neck, and black converses.
After getting dressed we played the waiting game. We had to wait until we got the signal from Brian. He was in charge of rewiring the cameras and microphones to show an old footage, then locking all the guard doors to keep all the guards off duty in, then unlock the armory. Once this happened, she is to send Alex and Nettie a group text asking how Alex is feeling. When this happens Nettie and Ashley will raid the armory, then we will all meet up in the center.
But until then, we wait. Alex sits next to me resting his hand on my thigh, gently rubbing his thumb into my skin. Both of us are to nervous to talk, sitting in complete silence. Then, Alex's phone buzzes.
We both snap our heads to the screen, there is the texting telling us to go. Alex looks into my eyes. I could almost see the nerves flashing in his. "Ready?" He asked intertwining my fingers with his. I could feel my stomach churning, from nerves and Alex's touch.
"As ready as I ever will be," I respond looking at our hands. He grabbed my chin turning to face me. He kissed me softly on the lips.
"Promise me no matter what happens, you run once you get out of this building, you run as far as possible," he deepens his eyes, wondering from mine to my lips. Then, he kissed me again, this time with more passion. I kissed him back as hard as I can, as if this is the last time I can.
"I promise," I say against his lips. We stop our face only inches away from each other, our breath mixing together. "I love you," a tear rolls down my face,"Please come out of this place with me that's all I want, is for you to escape with me."
"I will try my hardest," he looked down to our hands. Now the tears were flowing.
"No! That's not good enough you have to promise," I was near sobbing now,"I promised it's your turn!"
"I promise," he whispered.
Hey guys!! I totally feel like the worst author ever but then again my life has been crazy busy!!! Like today was the first time I haven't felt stressed bout 6 things. Now cheer season is over so I will only have drivers ed and after school club and tumbling to worry about outside of school. Haha. Yep anyways I'm hopeing to wrap up this book soon then off to the next book. So for a preview of the read my other short story "how society went wrong" it's gonna be semi based off that.
