Chapter 26:

I nervously paced around the small nurse's office. I know Alex is talking to the boss right now. I just pray that it goes well, that his boss will forgive him. But I couldn't help thinking, what if he doesn't? What will happen to our plan?
Just breathe Amber. As I paced, I had pictures of Alex and Abby flashed through my mind. Her twirling her hair, him smiling. I know there is nothing between them, and I have nothing to worry about, but I can't help but be slightly jealous.
Just then I heard someone turn the door handle. I jumped onto the hospital bed, and put an ice pack on my head. The door was now fully open. Please don't be a guard, or worse the boss. Then the door closed.
What the heck I didn't see anyone come in?! I sat up to get a better look, nothing. I continued to look at the door to see if someone did come in, or if I was crazy. I'm starting to go crazy! There was no one!!
Then I felt some one pick me up from the other side and throw me over their shoulder. I screamed in protest, so the attacker set me down. I looked up to find Alex.
"You jerk! You scared me!" I screamed at him. My cheeks heating up.
"Aww babe you don't mean that," he wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me closer. His brown eyes staring into my soul. I almost melted in his arms.
"How'd the meeting go?" I questioned. Then he leaned down and kissed me. At first I didn't kiss back. I wanted to know how it went with his dad, but then I gave in. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling us closer together. It was perfect.
He slowly pulled away, and rested his forehead on mine, both of us breathing heavily. "Amber, I solved our problem," he whispered.
I took a step back examining his face. He just smiled. He grabbed my hand and pulled me over to the hospital bed. I sat down next to him, while he wrapped his arm around my shoulder. "The boss thinks I'm sorry," his breath tickled my ear.
I couldn't help but smile." So that means your working with him again?" I asked. If he is, then we can escape.
"Yes, but before we create a plan I'm going to have to get Brian, and Nettie on our side," he explained.
"What about Abby," my voice trailed with hurt.
"She will never agree to help, and who needs her anyways," he pulled me onto his lap.
"I don't," I bit my lip trying not to laugh. I kissed him lightly on the lips then hopped off the bed.
"Goodnight Alex," I said. He stood up as well.
"Goodnight my princess." He kissed my forehead.
