Waited for Nothing

Chapter 5

I feel so tired. This has been a long day for me, plus there are creeps that seems to keep on following me, or rather us.

I wonder what's with that girl. I forgot her name. Was that Rina? Or Reina? Nah, I think it's Brenna. Yeah, that's it.

I just don't understand why she kept on clinging to me for the entire day. I mean it's really fine, she's pretty cute anyway.

It's just that I have gotten used to being alone and girls as gorgeous as her usually has a huge circle of friends. She doesn't need to keep dogging anyone for attention. She, herself is an eye-catcher.

Thinking of my life in the past years, I just realized that I never had a girlfriend after her. I can't help but smile sadly. Thinking about her brings a lot of memories. My eyes are starting to sting and I just look up to the sky to lessen it.

I continued to walk my way home. Well our house's not too far from here but it isn't near either and I just felt like walking right now.

Thinking of those days, those days where I'm still able to smile widely over small things. Small or big, everything about her makes me smile.

I keep on walking while still thinking of those days with her. I kicked the stone straight ahead but it went sideways. I smirked. Yeah, you should not expect something to go as how you wanted it to. I sighed.

As I walk my way home, I felt someone running after me and before I can look back to see who that is, someone grabbed my hand and cling to it while groaning.

"I've been calling you for like a million times but you never looked back. Hah! It's tiring", she said still panting. When her breathing evens she stood straight then looked at me. I just raised my eyebrow at her.

She didn't removed her gaze on me we kept on staring at each other until she started to giggle. "Okay I was just kidding. But gosh! You look sexy while doing that", she said with a smile. "What?" I questioned her. She giggled. "The way you raise your eyebrow. Gosh you're so cute", she said and then pinched my cheeks. I just gave her a bored look. "Okay, fine", she said and then let go of my flushed cheeks.

We were walking silently for a few minutes 'til she talked. "I'm so hungry. I want to eat spaghetti, and then ice cream then cake. And then I want to have coffee and no, I'll have cola and then burger and-", she babbled but I cut her off.

"Can't you just keep silent? Or better yet, do what you want on your own and just leave me alone", I told her monotonously.

Thankfully she didn't say anything after and just keep walking. I was busy thinking of how my life would go if things go in a different way when I felt her soft hands on mine. I was stunned for a moment but I never made it obvious for her to notice.

I averted my gaze on her and I saw her looking at me. She didn't look away and again, we stared at each other for a minute before a suppressed smile escaped from her lips. That made me dazed.

That's the most beautiful smile that I've ever seen but I never voiced it out. I was pulled out of my thought of her when she pinched my nose hard.

"Stop. It hurts", I blurted out as if it doesn't hurt at all. "Ow, sorry. Seriously? It's like you don't feel anything at all. You're so cold", she said after she let go of my nose.

All of a sudden I held her hands in mine tightly which made her gasped. I just smirked inwardly. "Am I still cold?" I asked her with a small smirk. She just looked away, not after I saw her smiled and blushed a little.

"Now you're silent. Tongue-tied, are we?" I told her. She then pout and giggled.

"You know what, it creeps me out when you do that. You're teasing me but your voice just don't speak any emotion. But it's fine, you're still cute", she said while smiling. I just frowned and looked away while feeling a little heat crawling its way to my face. Damn girl.

"Hey big guy, are you blushing?" she asked me, more like teased. "No. Why would I blush?" I asked her dully. "Wew, someone's in denial here. Haha it's okay cutiepatootiepie, you're still cute", she teased me again.

I just bit her finger when she tried to pinch my cheeks again. "Aw! Stop that!" she said while trying to remove her hands from my bite. When her eyes became teary, I reluctantly let go of her finger and said my sorry.

She was still frowning and pouting while holding her finger where I bit while saying that it really hurts.

I shouldn't really care but I just can't help but feel sorry for what I did to her. "It fcking hurt you jerk! You bit it too hard, look!" she shouted while showing me her finger.

I slowly get her hands and see how bad it was. It wasn't too bad and she was just overreacting, as expected. I just sighed and put a gentle kiss on her finger.

"It's gonna be fine, now stop cussing!" I hissed at her. She then withdrew her hands on my hold and look away while blushing again. I just smiled.

She's really cute when she blushes. She was murmuring something but I didn't bother to try to know what it was and just stared at her angelic face. I can't help but smile when she did while still looking away.

I tried to hold her hand but she's trying to put it away so I tickled her a little which made her gasped as if she can't believe I did. That's my cue and held her hand firmly.

"Come on, I'll walk you home", I just told her and then continue walking. She was stunned by what I said and stared at me as if I grew seven heads.

"Walk faster, it's getting late", I nudged her. She just blinked and then smiled widely, now gripping my hands firmly. We continued walking hand-in-hand while swaying it.
