Lan: "Hello ARMY! So I can't sleep *laughs*. I was debating whether or not to do a Vlive but I haven't done a solo Vlive since we announced I joined BTS..."

Bts.lan: "love you Lan!!"

Lan: "I love you too!"

Lan: "It is my native language so...anyways I'm getting off topic. There have been so many questions about my past and background. I'd gotten these even before I released my mixtape but since I have...those messages have tripled. So I decided I should...tell you about it. Even though my mom is Korean she speaks no Korean since her parents, my grandparents, moved from Korea to China before she was born. My father is Chinese and only knows Mandarin. I've had a lot of people tell me I'm not Chinese since I don't look Chinese. But I am. My brother and I both know Korean and Mandarin."

Lanischinese: "I believe you!!"

Lan: "Thank you."

Lan: "Anyways..my brother is...like 3 years older than me. He was actually the one who talk me some Korean before I moved to Korea when I was 9. My aunt who speaks both Mandarin and Korean tried to teach me before I auditioned at BigHit but she worked a lot so she didn't have time. When I became a trainee it was so hard since I didn't know more than a few phrases in Korean. Then 7 years later I joined BTS. Namjoon oppa helped me learn Korean and I really appreciate him for doing that. Since I'm usually always speaking Korean I've lost some of my accent when I speak Mandarin so I'm trying to speak it more so I don't loose it completely. I know you guys love it when I speak Mandarin."

Lan: "My mixtape represents me trying to let go of my past. When I was younger...a lot of stuff I wish I could forget happened...my aunt was in an abusive relationship when I was about 10. I'll call her Mary and I'll call him...Kevin since I don't want to give away their identities. Mary was so helplessly in love with Kevin that she didn't realize she was being abused. Kevin would cheat on her every night. If she didn't do exactly what he wanted he would beat her senseless. She pushed through the pain and worked so she could afford to keep her apartment and feed us. What she didn't know was...when she was at work...Kevin would hit me instead."

Protectlani: "THAT BASTARD!"

Lanimustbeprotected: "Do the boys know??"

Lan: "No...they don't. But when they watch this they will...anyways. This went on till I moved out and moved into a dorm for trainees. I would talk to my aunt every night to check up on her. I still do. It took her 5 years to finally leave him. After she finally left him I told her what he would do. She felt awful for not protecting me. But I was trying to protect her. I only told her about him hitting me...but in reality? He would do so much more to me. I'm not gonna say what...but it was horrible. I would pray for death every single night. It was so horrible...I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy..."

Lan: "My grandparents were originally from North Korea. They managed to escape and move to China. I don't know why cause China is communism but whatever. My brother actually plans on moving to Korea! I'm so excited. My brother is the first person I could trust with anything. Of course I trusted my parents but my relationship with my brother is beyond words. He means so much to me..."

Lan: "I think I should sleep now. Goodnight ARMY."
