The class seemed to zip by. I expected Mr. Junior to make me introduce myself in front of everyone but he didn't. I was grateful. But I kept remembering what Starella said 'Don't get used to it'.

Just as class was about to end, he did however. "Now class we have a new student." My heart skipped a beat, and my face immediately got hot as I stood up and walked to the front.

"Tell us your name, hybrid, and elements, kid." Mr. Junior lit another cigar. I couldn't believe he wasn't fired yet; the class smelled of smoke.

"Uh..I'm Beatrice....I'm a spotted Hyena hybrid..and my elements are light and.." I paused, "...time.."

I heard a few snickers and someone in the back of the class mumble "Great, another timebug." But shut up when Mr. Junior death-glared them.

"Thank you, Beatrice. You may talk amongst yourselves for the rest of the class." Mr. Junior announced then leant down to my height and whispered in my ear.

"If anyone gives you any shit about being a timebug, let me know, kid. I got your back." He stood up and smiled at me, which I returned with a hot face and wide eyes, then walked back to my seat. Everyone was already chatting. It was no surprise I heard people talking about me. Most people who had 'time' as an element were very cocky and know-it-all and used their powers for mischief. Hence the nickname 'timebug'. I'm not like that at all. However, I doubt they would believe me.

I caught myself staring off into space as I sat at my desk, until a group of guys came up to me. "Hey, timebug." One of them said, he was a bat hybrid, but his dominant trait was definitely human.

"Uh..yeah?" I asked. I realized I said 'uh' a lot when I'm nervous.

"You gonna freeze time and mess with us?" He asked, smirking. His eyes were narrowed.

"Wha-no! I don't do that." I babbled, avoiding eye contact. One of his eyes were green, the other was black.

"Yeah, sure sure, timebug. Listen, I'm Cedric. If you need anything just hit me up...but you'd have to do me a favor in return." I noticed he was tapping his foot once per every .5 a second. I glanced down at his foot than back up at him. He obviously wanted something from me.

"What do you need?" I asked, cautiously.

"He doesn't need anything." A wolf hybrid came and stood between him and I. "But he wants something. Every time he finds a timebug, he tries to make friends with them, so they will freeze time and steal something for him." She smirked and looked at him with one yellow eye and one grey eye. "But it never works."

Cedric made a 'tsk' noise and walked away. I breathed a sigh of relief.

"Tha-thanks.." I said, gratefully. She leant down on my desk and smiled at me with fangs, "No problem."

She had black hair that faded to white at the tips, grey ears, and a black tail. Her paws were black faded to grey. She wore a sleeveless navy blue crop top and black shorts with a blue jacket tied around her waist.

"I'm Leila." She said, still grinning.

"Beat-"

"Yeah I know." She laughed lightheartedly. "A little word of advice, stay away from Cedric. He's pretty manipulative, he likes to trick people into doing things for him." Leila said, rolling her eyes.

"Jeez. I've gotten so much advice today...I might explode." I joked with a wavering smile.

She laughed again, "Well everyone wants to befriend the new girl. Not just for her powers." The bell rung and Leila waved as she walked out the door.
